  1. Thanks for your help. I'm using the if/else commands, but something isn't working properly because a character gets the new story arc zone activated - even if the battle is lost - when in fact they should continue fighting until they either win or lose enough hit points to go to the healing zone. I've attached several screenshots of my program. Screenshots 2 & 3 are functions. Perhaps you can see the error?

  2. I'm using the urwigo builder to create my first module based on my Nebit the Gnome fantasy game. I have created a basic game, but I don't know how to reduce a character's health after an unsuccessful battle. I also want player character's to be able to be healed by gone to a healing zone. Any advice would be great. Thanks for your help ahead of time!

  3.

    While I am on the topic , what is the loss rate on "cool" geocoins , do they really get passed around or do they get gobbled up. I mean I don't mind sharing a good coin with strangers , even if I never see it again, as long as it remains in circulation. But I don't want to hand out free coins to people who are not committed to the purpose of sharing geocoins, when I shell out over $ 10.00 to "put it out there".

    Loss rate 20%,50%,75% , 90%

    Any idea's or statistics?

    Maybe a poll ?

    I put out real coins for about two years. The loss rate was roughly 15 percent per year, and I only have 2 of the roughly 20 real coins left in circulation. Nowadays, I keep the real coins and release proxies. I put out two-inch wooden nickels and customize them with a stamp I designed online (google custom rubber stamps). There was a wonderful writeup about why geocoins go missing (not on the forums), but I never saved the link. The gist was that most missing coins aren't stolen, but lost, held by inactive geocachers, etc.

  4. I am on the Moon and can help you out. I got left here back in 1972.

    I have hidden a lot of caches up here but no ever seems to find them.

    Seriously...I am in Germany and can help out.

    LOL. :D Thanks very much for the offer. I'll consider you for future shipments.

    Glad that so many people are helping out. So far, I've shipped 63 coins. I have two packets left but I have folks earmarked for those. Thanks everyone!

  5. Over the years, I have collected numerous geocoins, but I have had trouble passing them out since I cache infrequently. I was hoping that 16 people could help me distribute them. Each person will receive three Proxy geocoins to pass out in their state. Try to place them in different caches. (I’ve had caches stolen that have contained large numbers of coins in the past.) Please no more than two cachers per state, and I don’t need anyone from Ohio. (I don’t hate Ohio; I just give them out here on a regular basis. <_< ) Just PM me your postal address and respond to this post with your state so everyone knows what states are covered.

    Thanks for the help!

  6. Hello! I’m revising a free game that combines geocaching and role-playing games (RPGs). I’m just about finished with my revisions, and I would appreciate your help looking over the manual. Here are some possible jobs that you may find interesting:

    1) Spelling/Grammar Nazi: Suggest corrections for text that make it clearer and easier to understand. Tell me where I need transitions, content, etc.

    2) Mathematics Genius: Test the mechanics of the game and break it. Suggest changes along the way.

    3) Starving Artist: All current images content will be deleted. Doug Kovacs (Dungeons and Dragons artist) will be doing some of the artwork for the manual, and you can suggest where pictures should go and what the image content should be. (Be as specific as possible.) On other hand, you could test your skills and contribute artwork yourself. All contributions are subject to my approval and artists will not be compensated. You retain all rights to the image(s) you produce. (Sorry, I’ve only got a few extra dollars to compensate one artist.)

    4) Content Wizard: Suggest names for Monsters that will be recognizable to non-RPG players; Make sure that Monsters are in the correct order (according to level/challenge rating); Make sure that Minions makes sense for the primary monster (see minion combat); Develop alternative lists for Monsters (e.g., Halloween Series, Christmas Series, Valentine’s Day Series; don’t worry about the stats if you do this one); Anything else you think would be interesting…

    Should you accept this challenge, you will have your name forever praised near the beginning of the manual. Please get your revisions to me within two weeks. Just PM me your email and I’ll send you the new manual.

    Thanks!

    ~R

    PS

    If you would like to see the old version of the manual, then you can go to my cache: GC2ABZF.

  7. I placed a cache in a trash-filled area and called it "Trash Cache #1." It was a unique hide so people really enjoyed it. Most people did not take out trash despite the trash bags and rubber gloves I provided. Nonetheless I took out at least two garbage bags of trash every time I performed maintenance (and sometimes 4 or 5), and the occasional cacher brought their family to clean up the area...so it was spotless after about a year. :P

  8. I'm expanding my geocoin collection; however with so much to buy, I'm just looking at collecting trackable geocoins produced in 2005. I've found 2005 geocoins at geocoincollection.com, but I know that some of those are not trackable, and there's really no way to tell which is which. So, does anyone have a complete list of trackable 2005 geocoins?

  9. And so, in the best interest of this thread, I am changing the title to "Watch these coins now!" so no one will be confused.

    Sorry, everyone. I was just trying to do something nice for folks & didn't know about that rule. Please don't lock the coins; I adjusted the post too.

  10. I was struggling to develop missions for my new geocoins when I had an idea. What if the mission was to give a little of yourself through your stories? Thus the “Great Stories Series” missions were born, a series in which you must tell part of your own story. Now, I have no idea whether or not it will actually work, but I’m going to give it a try. :rolleyes:

    +++++++++++++

    This is an example of one coin’s mission:

    This geocoin is part of my “Great Stories Series,” and its goal is for you to share something personal about yourself. I strongly believe the best way to leave a legacy is to tell others your stories; it is through stories that we will be remembered, not through material things or wealth. Please share your memories and help everyone learn and grow, so that we all might take a part of you with us on the road of life.

    The theme of this coin is to share thoughts on the future of the world. Is humanity going in the right direction? What can we do on a societal and individual level to make a difference?

    +++++++++++++

  11. I placed five coins in caches last winter, and so far only one has gone missing. (The whole cache went missing, not just my coin.)

    I love the idea of copying the coin & placing the laminated copies out in caches, but I think I'll modify the idea a little. I'll place future coins in caches, but make copies of them before I do so. That way if someone "keeps" it, I can put out one of the duplicates. I just prefer to put out the real thing since it's more exciting for me to find the real coins.

  12. Just wanted to let you know that my friend has developed an interesting spin-off of the ‘Storyboard: Nebit the Gnome’ cache. If you go to his cache, you can pick up several items with which you can play a fun game called, RPG: Nebit the Gnome. If you’re not able to get to his cache, you can still play the game. Just go to this web page (GCP2ER) (http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=da510da0-3366-43af-b45b-8936670b47ea) and download the necessary documentation. Feel free to join the yahoo forum and to submit stories, questions, and comments. Hope you enjoy the game! <_<
