It's kinda too bad that a cache owner can't tell who's got their caches on the 'watch' list. Sounds like somebody might be tracking these area caches and popping over soon after a coin is logged in.

Well I tried to join (you're blocked 'cause you were too good in last year's fantasy league! )
and it said there is a temporary problem so I will try again later. I couldn't use the links above though and went directly to the pick em site...
Working today! Jump aboard!

Gee, not many takers on the one-and-done league- 'fraid you'll wrinkle your tutu's!?
-
Gotta defend my awesome victory last year!
Remember- you gotta pick by coin flip this year!
(In this era of 'legislative transparency ' I must reveal that I'm entered in all 3 groups as 'TheQuarter'- whose picks will be made utilizing a "Flip-for-it" coin from last season...)

Pre-emptive strike-
Cointest involves joining one (or more) of the Yahoo leagues at above links.
The league is a contest where you pick the winner of one of the weekly NFL (American professional football) games. You pick a team each week for as long as you pick winners. Complete rules are on the Yahoo Survival Football site. Winner is player who gets furthest in season without 3 (or 2 or 1 depending on league) wrong picks.
NOTE ON SETTINGS FOR GETTING PICKS IN- FOR THE 2 & 3 STRIKE LEAGUES PICKS CLOSE 5 MINUTES BEFORE THE FIRST GAME OF THE WEEK (GOTTA WATCH OUT FOR THOSE THURSDAY & SATURDAY GAMES!).
1 STRIKE LEAGUE PICKS IN BY 1:00PM SUNDAY. (A LITTLE MERCY IF YOU FORGET BY 1ST GAME!)

Was so exiting last season, started it up for this year! Sent out the invites to last year's gang while GC was down for maintenance, popped on this AM and saw the league well populated already! For anyone else who wants to give it a shot, I created a 'for fun' Yahoo Survival pick em league. All are welcome, no stakes to play. I'll send a coin of my choosing from what happens to be in my collection at end of season to winner.
I'm playing, so in case by some miracle I win the survival, coin will go to 2nd place.
'The original' GCCoinSurvivors is a three strike league (3 wrong picks before you're out). Also set up a 2 strike and a 'one and done' leagues... different Group ID's, same password, same prize structure.
One entry per cacher, per league, please!
GCCoinSurvivors (3 strike league)
Yahoo Group ID# 783
Password heavymetal
http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/survival/783
GCCoiners (2 strike league)
Yahoo Group ID# 777
Password heavymetal
http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/survival/777
GCCoiners1Strike (one and done)
Yahoo Group ID# 780
Password heavymetal
http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/survival/780
Will try to keep all 3 leagues on this single thread.
Good Luck & have fun!

We are going to be setting up an Intro to Geocaching event for our Cub Scouts and families this July. We only have 2 or 3 GPS units with at least 36 people signed up. I have struck out on donations from Cabela's and other outdoor stores, and our Council does not have any. Any suggestions? We are in Plymouth, Minnesota.
Thanks!

Sounds like you're doing a Pack event, so you probably won't get any of the big guys to do it, but is there a local sporting goods/ outdoors store you could invite to participate especially ones who carry BSA uni's & gear. You might find one to come out to set up a display/demo of not only GPS but also tents & gear. Cubbies grow into Boy Scouts who are known to drop a few bucks on stuff now and again and most units I've seen around here try to build relationships with the local stores for the personal touch & community bonding...

After losing a detailed cache set up if I'm gonna be running long on a cache description/set up I'll do it in Word or Word Pad than copy/paste to GS.

I'd eat a Klondike Bar!

"All four remaining 'active' brackets involve Duke or WVU winning and advancing to the Final."
Could be a long night 'til the 2nd game is done!
Wasn't that long a night, as the 2nd game was pretty much done @ the half, letting Digger/Jim spend the final 20 mins sipping his victory Champagne.. Congrats to all on a down-to-the-wire, close, hard fought game!

Down to the Final Four, appearing to be pretty much locked into results with 9 of 13 gone as far as they can points wise with 'Where's My Marbles' leading with 66 points & Champion pick OUT... but wait!
All four remaining 'active' brackets involve Duke or WVU winning and advancing to the Final.
'BBall Bracket' in 4th place can add 16 points to a max of 79. Champion pick is OUT.
'Digger9 Bracket' in 6th can reach 75. Champion pick is OUT.
'labrat_wr' in 7th can reach 74. Champion pick is OUT.
and finally the 12th place 'GoUconn !' with a lowly 49 points heading in has the only Champion pick alive for a potential of 97 points.
A West Virginia win would Dookie it up for 'Digger9 Bracket' and 'labrat_wr' , all but giving the crown to 'BBall Bracket' unless WVU wins it all, handing the title to 'GoUconn !' .
A Duke win would seem to give title to Digger by ONE POINT.
Stay tuned!
