LOL!!! Yes.. alas it is true... I am a junkie... but I am in therapy and as a result have cut down my chat lurking to a minimum... I went out by myself to find my first cache and realised how completely blonde I am ... got lost and decided to research a little more =) I would tell you my terrible caching adventure but it's really too embarassing.. NEVER FEAR though, I am going out again on Saturday and I wont come home till I find something... Lys Si judicas... Cognosce

Obviously, being Canadian... I didn't serve but having said that, I feel I am qualified to speak on the subject of this thread being inappropriate... I think it's great reading what people do or didn't do in the military... and enjoy getting to know a little more about all of you. And on a personal note, IF I had served... I would be proud to post in this thread what I did and where I did it Lysa Si judicas... Cognosce

Rodney wakes up at home with a huge hangover. He forces himself to open his eyes, and the first thing he sees is a couple of aspirins and a glass of water on the side table. He sits down and sees his clothing in front of him, all clean and pressed. Rodney looks around the room and sees that it is in a perfect order, spotless, clean. So is the rest of the house. He takes the aspirins and notices a note on the table: "Honey, breakfast is on the stove, I left early to go shopping. Love you." So he goes to the kitchen and sure enough there is a hot breakfast and the morning newspaper. His son is also at the table, eating. Rodney asks, "Son, what happened last night?" His son says, "Well, you came home after 3 A.M., drunk and delirious. Broke some furniture, puked in the hallway, and gave yourself a black eye when you stumbled into the door." Confused, Rodney asks, "So, why is everything in order and! so clean, and breakfast is on the table waiting for me?" His son replies, "Oh that! Mom dragged you to the bedroom, and when she tried to take your pants off you said, 'Lady leave me alone, I'm married' " Si judicas... Cognosce

LoL!!! while I totally appreciate the offer.. I think I would like my very first cache to be somewhere I can take care of it myself... I do like the multi idea with the different parts of the combination along the way... And after talking it over with my husband... we think we will sign up for membership and make it a members-only cache when we are ready to do this... Hopefully that will eliminate any cache plundering by people who like to do that sort of thing and aren't in it for the fun of the sport Si judicas... Cognosce

lol I have a sub-section to my idea after reading the Plundered cache section.... I will go out on a limb and assume that most people who are techy enough to have gps's also probably have a cell phone.... I was thinking of putting a combination lock on the *container* and when people find it they would have to call to get the combination... Of course...I would leave it on the answering machine or something for if I wasn't at home... or if someone has a better suggestion.. that would mean We would know exactly who was there and when,... So many ideas..I may make it a members only cache too... lol any suggestions are welcome though Si judicas... Cognosce

Okay.. well since you guys have all been so wonderful ..what with the gps etc... I have been putting some serious thought into hiding an "uber" cool cache with some very nice stuff in it... what I was thinking of doing was putting say 10 or so cool wrapped and numbered (from 1-10 etc) and the items would be taken out in order of who came to the cache first... first find gets number 1.. and so on down the line... I guess it is a two-part question... 1) how well do you think this would go over with the geocache people... and 2) Do you think that people would enjoy that kind of cache hunt...? Having said that.. I am aware that I am just getting started...but this will take some planning and I wanted to know if the idea in general was a good one before I put in the time and money to set it up... Okay.... I just got back from meeting with Drpepper and Mike and DustyJacket... we did the big trade off in the parking lot of the quick trip gas bar... (surrounded by police.... lol) < jk there was some woman there who got in an accident, so they were there filling out reports... I am going to try and email everyone personally and say thank you for my new gps... but if I don't get you... please don't be offended, it's because you weren't on the list of people that I was given... but I thank you all the same. We went and found two caches... which was totally cool, even if I was a little self-conscious about knowing absolutely nothing! I can't wait to try some more =0) ... Dusty, Mike and drpepper are all great !... Im sure the rest of you are just as nice, hope to meet you all soon =) Thanks again so much ... Lysa Si judicas... Cognosce

A little boy comes down to breakfast. Since they live on a farm, his mother asks if he had done his chores. "Not yet," said the little boy. His mother tells him no breakfast until he does his chores. Well, he's a little teed off, so he goes to feed the chickens, and he kicks a chicken. He goes to feed the cows, and he kicks a cow. He goes to feed the pigs, and he kicks a pig. He goes back in for breakfast and his mother gives him a bowl of dry cereal. "How come I don't get any eggs and bacon? Why don't I have any milk in my cereal?" he asks. "Well," his mother says, "I saw you kick a chicken, so you don't get any eggs for a week. I saw you kick the pig, so you don't get any bacon for a week either. I also saw you kick the cow, so for a week you aren't getting any milk." Just then, his father comes down for breakfast and kicks the cat ! ;half way across the kitchen. The little boy looks up at his mother with a smile, and says, "Are you going to tell him, or should I?" Si judicas... Cognosce

I think this is evidence of the American/Canadian language barrier.... my husband bugs me all the time about little quirks I have... ie) when I refer to "next" weekend.. it doesn't apply to the weeking coming up directly.. but the NEXT one... hehe... so... THIS weekend on Sunday I am supposed to be meeting drpepper... not the weekend that just passed... hehe vive la difference (eh) !!!!! Si judicas... Cognosce

We haven't placed it YET.. but our first cache will be on private property... of course though, we know the owners and they have no problem with us using their land... I love the idea because with it being private property, it is a place people normally wouldn't have had access to.

I guess I really should write something in the log book, it never even entered my mind... I have it and all the stuff we have gathered to give to Keith sitting on the kitchen table... ....I will have to think of something to write now... *puts on thinking cap*
