  1. Hey everyone, I am keen on doing a Majuba event towards the end of February, sort of as to co-incide with the battle that took place there almost 131 years back. But I am not sure I can include it as they usually organize a whole battle reenactment for that same weekend and it may be a bit difficult to find the actual caches as the mountain will be alive with activity, but then the experience of it might interest a lot of people. As geocachers we could maybe spend the day together as a group and to make the caches easier we stick together as a group to make things less obvious when searching for the caches. Just toying with the idea at the moment so if there is enough interest it will help in my decision.....
  2. Five cachers, all on the same day, 2011-03-26, found 144: BAKGAT, ScottScott, TechnoNut, Tinkerbell-GP and gerhardoosMPsa. (I have not checked them for duplicates yet.) Wazat was also in that group of madmen That I reckon is still the SA Record for "Traditional / Conventional" (i.e. not Power Trail) caching. So was Schemeri but we both had previous finds priorto that day. But even after returning just over a year later I still had to search for some of them that I had done. And no duplicates there. My personal tally for that day was 108. But that was a very different ball game to the GPS series as anyone who has done Oom Louwtjies caches can tell you..... I could hardly walk for the two days that followed. My feet were stuffed. Tinker bell and I still did a few the next two days but relaxing was more important than caching.... After the GPS series I was up early the next morning and still did a few more caches that day, good ones that put the caching for quality caches and not senseless micros back in my mindset.... If I never did them I probably would not have bothered again..... Although the 640 is a nice take for the day, they just didn't leave a sense of caching for what I see it.... Seeing places that are worth seeing, be it scenic, historical or interesting. Racking up numbers like that left me with a somewhat false sense of achievement.... It was as a team, and we find caches together and not as individuals.... Makes a huge difference. To me finding 40 caches in a day in Bloemfontein, alone and inclusive of a 600 km trip for the day, was much more worthy of 640 or 108.... All I can take out of the power trail and the 144 with the guys in Bloemfontein was the amazing team spirit we had, the friendships we built and the sense of shattering goals that we had set....
  3. But GC has NB at 611? Something amiss with your stats.... I thought it looked a bit off... I expected Gringer tobe about 5 more than me... either i missed some of the GPS series or he really did do quite a few I had done before. How about best weekend, best weekly and best monthly finds....
  4. Wow Danie, that is great.... Still off my question, who had the most in a day? I have a feeling Gringer1 had it.... Also I get my total at 1111 for last year not 1113...
  5. Just wondering... Who had the most finds in a day? What are the find stats for 2011... Also placed stats. And not sure if this was done, which are the most remote caches per province, and the centroids per province.
  6. See mine in GP.... Curse of the FTF 11-11-11 the guys in GP are battling too.
  7. And I just got the Roberts birds of KNP earlier this week.
  8. If you lie down with dogs, you'll see that cache hidden under the park bench. Children should be seen and not be used as trade items. Don't put off till tomorrow what could be a FTF at 23:55 pm. Never underestimate the power of an electric fence with a nano attached to part of it. A penny saved is not possible when planning a few off the route geocaches.
  9. Sorry been hectic and not been on for a while but yes this is the right answer..... You are it.... And see where am I thread as well.
  10. OK the six is right, but not quite on track....
  11. Bit of a tough one this is proving to be it would seem.... Shall I drop a clue or six?

    Where am I?

    CH you are right....
  13. My apologies - I forgot to update my script to include the latest two members of the 2000 club. In the process I missed Wazat and Antron: 6. Antron: 1292 days 8. Wazat: 1492 days Cool. But now looking back. My 1000 th day of caching I reached 500 finds. The next 500 came within the year of 2010' so that was 1365 days since then another 1058 caches to date in this year. That puts on the other 1058 at -130 days so you need to update the 1000 club too, LoL. Can it be worked out who has moved the most travelers. And what are the caches that have the most overall travelers visiting them....
