  1. And here's some discussion from the Oregon Wiki. http://garminoregon.wikispaces.com/message...w/home/12528391
  2. Any current handheld GPS unit will allow you to mark a waypoint, give it a 4 character name of your choice, receive signals in a forest, use rechargeable batteries and download data to a computer. I would recommend a Garmin Oregon 450 or a GPSMAP 62S.
  3. What happens when you click the button? Do you get an error message? What internet browser and version? And have you checked all the locations (Waypoints and Geocaches) on the GPS unit?
  4. No, you cannot. For one, Google Maps are not accurate enough. And secondly, the Cache Listing Guidelines/Requirements require that you obtain the coordinates at the cache location using a GSP receiver. http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#guide "You as the owner of the cache must visit the site and obtain the coordinates with a GPS. GPS usage is an essential element of geocaching. Therefore, although it is possible to find a cache without a GPS, the option of using accurate GPS coordinates as an integral part of the cache hunt must be demonstrated for all physical cache submissions."
  5. Please keep unrelated issues out of the thread. Thanks.
  6. Please see these existing recent topics. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=264368 http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=263872 http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=264689 http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=263938 http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=261919
  7. What version of Internet Explorer? What OS version on the computer?
  8. Typically, unless the cache page specifically indicates that the cache is placed on private property with permission of the property owner, I will not trespass onto private property.

  10. Does the tablet have Bluetooth? If so, you might be able to use the Freedom Keychain GPS (which would avoid the cable altogether).
  11. Have you gone to this page and entered your code? http://www.geocaching.com/freetrial/
  12. The ones at the link I posted are routable, however. That site has street maps only, but no topo maps.
  13. I don't know about Florida, but here in New Jersey, every square inch of land is owed by somebody. How do you find out who owns it? We call it "no mans land" here. Go to the county or city assessor's office.
  14. Let's discuss the issue without the name calling and personal attacks.
  15. Log in to the Geocaching.com website with your user name and password. On the main page, there is a box about 1/4 down the page on the right side under your user name. The box is under "Search for Geocaches". Type in the "GC" number of the cache you found. This will take you to the Cache Page.
  16. That's not what happened when I exported a file to CSV right before I posted. (I tested to see if it would work.) This is what I got. Longitude Latitude POI Name Address -76.292683 36.906767 GC23R34 -76.285267 36.898133 GCJHG7 -76.282683 36.9024 GCV22Q
  17. But there's a link to the Pocket Query page on your Profile Page. http://www.geocaching.com/my/ Scroll about two-thirds down and look on the right side of the page.
  18. MapSource? EasyGPS? Extra POI Editor? (Save As ... CSV)
