  1. FireRef, your discussion about "form letters" is off-topic for this thread. If you wish to discuss that issue, there are other avenues for that discussion. Thanks.
  2. "Unknown Cache" includes Puzzle/Mystery caches.
  3. You can load multiple maps from MapSource in the same mapset if you want.
  4. Take it easy, folks. Please discuss the topic without the insults and attacks and off-topic comments. Otherwise, kindly refrain from posting. Thanks.
  5. The nuvi will read one GMAPSUPP.IMG from the SD card and one from the device memory if you so choose. You will still need to toggle them on and off, however.
  6. And you can get routable street maps from this site. http://garmin.na1400.info/routable.php
  7. http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=request
  8. What is the file name of the maps that don't show on the nuvi? The nuvi doesn't support custom map names. The supplemental map file must be name GMAPSUPP.IMG in order to the nuvi to see it.
  9. The c:geo application violates the Terms of Use (TOU) of the Geocaching.com website.
  10. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Was it possible that another user name was used?
  11. Ok. But you didn't provide any details about what wasn't working. And the OP posted way back in April 2010 and didn't post back so presumably they have solved their issue.
  12. Check out this page from the Groundspeak Knowledge Books. http://support.Groundspeak.com//index.php?pg=kb.page&id=59
  13. You should be able to install the software and maps on more than one computer that you own without any problems.
  14. I think that it's quite a broad assumption to say that people who do not "share their DNF stories" do so out of "shame". Shame likely has nothing at all to do with it. It's fine for you to indicate that you want to see the DNFs on someone's profile (although I don't agree) but it's wrong to assign the rationale of "shame" as such a broad brush to those who don't log them.
  15. How long does it usually take to receive a reply from Groundspeak? Is there a phone number with hours to call? http://www.Groundspeak.com/contact.aspx
  16. Check out this site for information on how to do it. http://geocaching.totaltechworld.com/
  17. Yeah, it's only the cache owner and the reviewer. Notifications are only for once the cache has actually been archived. Not for when a "NA" log is posted.
  18. Just use the Caches Along a Route Function to create a rectangular area. I believe that Markwell has a post (or two) about this somewhere.
  19. You will need to geocode (ie get the latitude and longitude) for each address. Then create the CSV in the following format (if you are going to be using it with a Garmin GPS unit). longitude, latitude, name, description (optional) repeat as needed Note that you can only have four columns of information. The rest will be ignored. So typically, you would put the name in the name column and all the rest of the address data in the fourth/description column.
  20. Yes, if you want street maps, you will need to install them. Those units only come with a basic basemap. mulvaney's post as the links to the two good sites for free maps. Alternately, you can purchase detail maps from Garmin. As to navigating neighborhood parks or trails in housing developments, you are going to need to do those by sight. No maps are going to include that level of detail.
  21. Yep. Don't use the business name. Just say that it is your favorite place to eat.
  22. And to add to what PotatoFinder said, here's where you set up Pocket Queries. http://www.geocaching.com/pocket/ And here's a great guide to setting them up. http://www.markwell.us/pq.htm
  23. Sometimes it just takes a little while for it to refresh.
