  1. In terms of tort law, they would definitely be considered "invitees". If you go into a WalMart parking lot or into a public park (during the normal operating hours), you are an "invitee".
  2. Yes, the 2610 auto-routes. Have you taken a look at the Garmin page on this unit? https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=164&pID=6397 This capable navigator offers everything you want in an automotive navigation system — automatic route capability, voice prompts and a large color display — for much less than built-in systems. With the StreetPilot 2610's touch screen and remote control, entering and retrieving information has never been easier. Perfect for both business and vacation, it's turn-by-turn routing and voice prompts get you where you're going accurately and safely. It's fast processor means quick route calculations and map redraws. The 2610 also features a large, easy-to-read screen, built-in maps, and everything needed to download additional map detail and look up points of interest and addresses in seconds. Select maps and transfer data directly to the unit through a USB connection and onto a standard CompactFlash® memory card. The StreetPilot 2610 now includes a number of new and exclusive software features including: * Multiple Destinations — Do you want to find the most efficient route for deliveries or sales calls? Users can enter a series of destinations, and the StreetPilot 2610 will automatically sort them to provide an efficient route. * Road Segment and Area Avoidance — Would you like to avoid traffic tie-ups or roadwork? Users can specify areas and road segments to avoid when calculating routes. * Find Nearest on Route — Are you running on empty? This time-saving feature allows users to limit searches for gas stations, restaurants, etc., to upcoming points near a route. * Adjustable Road Class Preference — How about taking the road less traveled? Users can adjust preferences for major, medium, and minor road categories. The 2610 is powered using the external speaker with 12/24-volt adapter cable or A/C power adapter (both included in purchase). The StreetPilot 2610 also offers WAAS-enabled support to ensure the highest degree of GPS accuracy. Also, there is a Motorcycle power/audio cable Part Number: 010-10495-02 available for this unit.
  3. You might want to ask over on the Motorcycle Tourer's Forum. http://forums.delphiforums.com/MCTourer/start Those guys have lots of experience with the Garmin 26xx series.
  4. No, offense, but did you read it? Seems fairly self-explanatory. It ‘translates’ live positional data from Garmin’s proprietary interface into NMEA 0183. Garmin’s proprietary interface data is only provided via USB whereas NMEA data is provided via serial port . Spanner overcomes this by creating a virtual serial port and thereby allowing a USB based Garmin GPS receiver ‘speak’ with programs that require NMEA data. Spanner is offered as a tool for Garmin’s GPS 18 product, but it works with other Garmin GPS receivers including the GPSMap 60cx and 76CS. However, it doesn’t work with all Garmin USB GPS receivers. Some receivers that reportedly don’t work with Spanner include: Venture Cx and Vista Cx. http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=1627 Spanner allows you to use your GPS 18 USB with most NMEA 0183-compliant mapping programs. It adds a virtual com port interface to your GPS 18 so that you can send NMEA data to other programs.
  5. Just an FYI, not a comment on whether or not the term applies or should have been used. http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=psychotic psy·chot·ic /saɪˈkɒtɪk/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[sahy-kot-ik] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation –adjective 1. characterized by or afflicted with psychosis. –noun 2. a person afflicted with psychosis.
  6. You can't copy the pre-programmed SD cards. And you can't use them with a PC. They only work with GPS units.
  7. Or you can just enter the city and state into the search box.
  8. Absolutely do not do it unless you own it. It's defacing property no matter how "harmless" it may seem.
  9. GPS Utility will convert from an EST to a GPX. Then you can use Garmin's POI Loader to load the GPX as a Custom POI.
  10. Yes, there is an updated version coming out in 2 - 4 weeks. What version of the maps did you purchase? v8? The next version coming out in a few weeks will be v2008 (they changed the numbering scheme). BTW, the NT version is more compact than the non-NT version, but this doesn't have anything to do with the map version.
  11. If you have the latest version of Google Earth, you can open GPX files directly.
  12. The hole wasn't an existing hole according the the hider himself. He said that he dug the hole in which to place the wooden box. And then placed the cache in the box.
  13. Worked for me using zip code 59936. The PQ comes back with 8 virtuals inside the park and several traditional caches along the outer perimeter.
  14. Have you looked at this page? http://www.trimbleoutdoors.com/ViewTrip.aspx?TripID=8222
  15. You admit that you dug a hole in order to place the cache. That's not allowed regardless of whether digging is required to find the cache.
  16. There are 278 caches within 10 miles of me. I haven't found all of them. I won't likely find a bunch of them because I don't typically go after micros on purpose. (Not that there's anything wrong with them, per se, I just tend to prefer non-micros.)
  17. The SD cards don't require unlocking and will work with multiple GPS units but, they only work with the GPS units and not with your computer. You won't be able to load the maps onto your computer so you can't use them with MapSource. The DVD version is better in this regard. The unlock process is not difficult if you just follow the steps through the myGarmin website.
  18. You must be selecting too many options that are canceling each other out. A common mistake is selecting both "caches that I have found" and "caches that I haven't found" at the same time. What options are you selecting? Try deselecting some options and see if you get any results back.
  19. Do what? POIs that are bitmaps? Not sure what you are asking. POI Loader will load CSV and GPX files that are properly formatted. Some unit have the ability to also load a custom icon in the form of a bitmap that is sized and named properly.
  20. Be sure your MapSource program is updated to the latest version 6.12.4 http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=209
  21. Yes, you can only update the built in POIs by purchasing an updated map product. However, you can add TONS of Custom POIs to your SD card. Check out POI Factory for more information. Tons of POI files. http://www.poi-factory.com/
  22. Also, remember that the reviewer's coverage area may be quite large covering well beyond "your area". So even if there aren't many caches in "your area" the reviewer may actually have a lot in his or her "area" to handle.
  23. Try this site for geocoding the addresses. http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/convert?form=address
  24. Try Where To?>Coordinates This should give you your current coordinates.
