+WeightMan Posted September 25, 2003 Share Posted September 25, 2003 I am getting ready to place my first cache. Two of the waypoints will be Altoids containers. Yesterday I was painting a box. When I opened it up I noticed that the smell of the Altoids was still there. I had cleaned out the box, but had done nothing else. I tried using some alcohol (rubbing not drinking) and that seems to do the job. Any other ideas? Weight Man Quote Link to comment
+Stunod Posted September 25, 2003 Share Posted September 25, 2003 Washing with bleach & water does a good job. You can then rinse it with a baking soda & water mix to get rid of the bleach smell. I had not even considered that, but it should work well. The mention of the ants brought to mind my visit to this cache. I found it before the name change, but after the ants showed up. It used to be called Dunnigan Creek. This post is a natural product.
