+2luv2dance Posted May 30, 2005 Posted May 30, 2005 We found our first cache yesterday. In it I took a wooden disc. On one side it has the number "43" in black. On the other side it has a spiral in the center with 9 points radiating outword from it, all in green. Does anyone know what this is or how to research what it is. Is it some form of travelbug or geobutton? I looked at theose, but didn't see one like it. Thanks, 2luv2dance Quote
+IVxIV Posted May 30, 2005 Posted May 30, 2005 I've never heard of such an item. It might just be a piece from some old board game that a cacher decided would make colorful swag. Read through the past logs of that cache, perhaps the person who left it make some sort of comment about it? Quote
+woof n lulu Posted May 30, 2005 Posted May 30, 2005 (edited) From the discription, I would guess its someone "signature" item. These are trade item that are usually personally made by a geocacher to leave as swag, so they are unique. Alot of geocachers collect sig items. Depending on your location, you will probably run into a variety these often. 43 probably means he/she has left 42 others somewhere. Edited May 30, 2005 by woof n lulu Quote
+Hoppingcrow Posted May 30, 2005 Posted May 30, 2005 I've seen several items like this used as signature items. Generally, they'll have a user name on them somewhere, although when I released a seven-unit series of "geoquip" beads, I neglected to put my user name on them. Didn't even think about it until I read your post! Quote
