CT Trampers Posted May 27, 2005 Posted May 27, 2005 We will be camping at Lake George for the first time on June 3. Unsure of what campground, (brother in-law has the reservations and info) but it is one where you need a boat to get there. So, can anyone suggest any good caches in the Lake George area? Those reachable by boat a definite plus. Thanks! Al, Carol, and Ben. Quote
Perfect Tommy Posted May 27, 2005 Posted May 27, 2005 If you've got a boat, you may want to check out this cache as well as this virtual. Quote
Planet Posted May 28, 2005 Posted May 28, 2005 (edited) yup Bring bug spray Bummer this one is archived but go anyway This one is TOTALLY not rated a boat cache even though it says take a boat, but looks like one for my next trip up in June too. They're all nice up there, it's gorgeous! have fun! Edited May 28, 2005 by Planet Quote
avroair Posted May 28, 2005 Posted May 28, 2005 My very first cache was at Lake George! Buck Mountain. I believe it is still active. There are a couple on the islands there too and one cache behind the town. Quote
rjw661 Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 You may want ot go to the Capitol District Geocachers website at www.geocachingny.net/ . It costs nothing to join and they will be more then happy to help. Quote
GPS Guy Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 THIS cache would make a big loop. Or, if your boat driver wants to drop you off a couple of times, then pick you up later west of Hatchet Island, you could make a point to point hike of it. Have fun! Quote
