1stimestar
How do you put a counter in your profile? I have the code but don't know where to put it. Quote Link to comment
Subterranean
Well, I'm not Curmudgenly Gal, but to answer your question, I think the easiest way to do it is to place html code in one of the text boxes that are used to describe yourself. Ya know... such as "Hobbies,"..... ...Hmmm that's the only one I can think of, but there are like three or four of them that can be used. Quote Link to comment
1stimestar
Thanks. I'll go try it right now then. Quote Link to comment
CurmudgeonlyGal
Wow. Scary! I knew it was only a matter of time before it was ALL ABOUT ME! 1stimestar: It works exactly as subterranean wrote. You just take the code generated by whatever counter you intend to use and drop it into your profile page in one of the three boxes. If you know a wee bit of HTML, you can move it around a bit as well. If you need any more info, please feel free to write me privately. -=- michelle Quote Link to comment
Tidalflame
I thought about it a bit, and decided that I wanted a counter on my page. So, I wrote a very simple one that doesn't include any ugly banners or anything. To everyone else: If you would like a counter on your page, I'll let you use my script for free. It's very simple to include. Just put the following where you want the counter to appear. <img src="http://www.tidalflame.net/files/counter/imagecounter.php?id=YOURUSERNAME" alt="Counter by Tidalflame"> If you're going to use my counter, MAKE SURE YOU REPLACE THE "YOURUSERNAME" PART WITH YOUR USERNAME. Otherwise you might end up using a counter that already exists, in which case everyone using that counter would get skewed results. You can include spaces, but don't use a bunch of weird characters or it won't work. This counter doesn't count unique visits, by the way. It's just a simple hit counter. If you want to see what they look like, here is one. Edited May 23, 2005 by Tidalflame Quote Link to comment
sept1c_tank
Wow. Scary! I knew it was only a matter of time before it was ALL ABOUT ME! Hobbies: Watching you, watching me: Wow! I'm not sure what to make of this. It reminds me of a long, long time ago when I was at a football game, spying on a cute girl (not unlike you) through binoculars. I'm not sure exactly how it happened, but pretty soon she was spying on me with her own binocs. Pretty soon we were waving at each other with one hand while we were spying on each other throug the glasses with the other. OK, so now you know, I've been lurking around your profile (I'm ashamed of you)! BTW, I didn't get the girl. Quote Link to comment
carleenp
There are many free stat services out there. They will generate the code for you and then you can track things on their site. Some also allow the counter to be invisible. Quote Link to comment
