roystr
i was thinking,,do i need to use the garmin software for the rino 120? i was at the site. http://www.ngmapstore.com/shopping/product...=174&itemID=348 and their software is much less expensive.24.95 to be exact. its just that 99$ for the garmin software seems like quite a bit, especialy since im only going to use the north east part. opr NY,me,vt,nh,mass, and maybe ct. or maybe 99$ isnt that much for the program, but its alot to me. :-( so,can i use any gps software i can find?? i thought i read somewhere there are programs that can change the software to fit my gps,or make it so my gps can read it. thank you, roy Quote Link to comment
+IV_Warrior
As far as I know, you can use that software on you PC and have your GPS tied into it, to show location, but you can actually only load Garmin maps onto a Garmin GPS (and Magellan maps to a Magellan GPS, etc) Quote Link to comment
+Jeeping Family
And if you just want to upload the caches then get GSAK Quote Link to comment
+HartClimbs
I'm almost positive that if you want to load add-on maps to a Garmin GPS - they gotta be Garmin Mapsource maps. The 120/130's come with a basemap of North America that's pretty good - but doesn't have terrific detail. I ended up buying both the Metroguide and Topo Mapsource packages. (Top for geocaching, Metroguide for driving!). Quote Link to comment
