+SeventhSon
The only software you can upload into your Garmin is Garmin software Quote Link to comment
+PDOP's
You can use Streets and Trips to display cache locations on your PC or laptop. Importing waypoints to Microsoft Streets & Trips Quote Link to comment
+LeBuckZoo
You can also leave your GPSr connected to the computer and S&T will show your current location and (relatively) good directions to your next stop. But no, it's not a smart enough program to download maps to the GPS. Quote Link to comment

Make sure the GPS is set to use NMEA senteces. Go into S&T, on the menu click on tools:GPS:configure reciever and select the right serial port go back to tools:GPS: and select track position Make sure the GPS is on and can see some sats and you are ready to go. CrafterCat
Yeah, that is a very cool thingy to use. My computer tech son has our laptop set up to use the gps to show our location on the Streets and trips program. It's cool to see the little car move along the map as you progress on your trip. Very neat! Quote Link to comment

Very neat! True, but sadly MS Streets & Trips WON'T tell you if you're off course. Delorme's Street Atlas will. Quote Link to comment
