CumberlandCentre.org
Hi everyone, I'm president of a small nonprofit organization (http://www.cumberlandcentre.org) that provides facilities (camping, etc.) for nonprofit activities. We're trying to mae a map of our facilities (Lon. -86.85548, Lat. 35.54235) and have a Board member with a GPS, but none of us have any idea how to go about making the map with this wonderful technology. Any advice/help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks, Doug Quote Link to comment
+DavidMac
Although there is a little learning curve when it comes to GPS, it isn't too difficult to create a map once you get the data into a computer. I'm guessing you'll want to waypoint each of the buildings on the premises, and display the waypoints on a topo map which you could then use to create a nicer map. Here is a link to an online topo map of what I'm guessing is your location. Topozone is one website that can map GPS coordinates for you. I live at the far end of the state, so it would be a little difficult for me to stop by, but the folks at Middle Tennessee Geocachers Club are nearby and somebody there may be able to help you further. CumberlandCentre.org
JDan150, you absolutely rock! I'll contact you privately with more information. We tried to figure out the GPS we had, but the owner's father is in the hospital so she couldn't be there and none of us had any clue what to do. --Doug Quote Link to comment
