+alanfreed
I grabbed a travel bug a few weeks ago in anticipation of a trip I was taking to the Bahamas, with the intention of moving these guys down there for some sun and relaxation. When I got to the Bahamas, the cache I had hoped to drop these in was pretty much inaccessible, possibly missing. In any case, I wasn't able to find it. I did do a couple virtuals and what turned out to be a micro (I had hoped it wasn't going to be a micro so I could deposit them there, but the container was too small). Anyway, I was wondering whether it was a common practice to log that the travel bugs visited these locations, since they did actually "travel" a couple thousand extra miles. I'm just wondering if I should "virtually deposit," and then "pick them up" at the spot of the micro I found...? Or should I just drop them off in my next cache and call it a day? I'm just not sure whether what I'm describing is a common practice or not. I've seen other logs mentioning a "virtual travel bug drop off" or something like that, which put this thought into my mind... Quote Link to comment
YouKnowMe
It's fine. I often pick up a TB, log it into and right back out of a handful of caches until I decide I've had it long enough and finally drop it. Quote Link to comment
SCP-173
If I was the owner of the bug I would hope that you'd log it in/out of the micro you did. I wouldn't care so much about the miles as much as I would the chance to add another state to the list that it's been to. Quote Link to comment
+Eric K
Best way is to e-mail the owners of the bugs in question and see if they mind or not. Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
Best way is to e-mail the owners of the bugs in question and see if they mind or not. True that. Some owners want you to log it at every cache you were at while you had the bug. Some only want you to log it where you leave it. Quote Link to comment

Jake - Team A.I.
If it were me, I would have taken a picture of the bug with the micro container and said something about it not fitting. It would be proof that the bug was in fact there. Quote Link to comment
