+TeamDS Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 I think we need a place to post links and information on making Geocoins. It will Benifit all of us if more groups / people make them as there will be more to collect. It would be especially helpful to find information on production of metallic geocoins at home, if this is possible. Im thinking of somehow stamping coins at home, maybe even as crudely as using a hammer and letter punch on soft metal blanks. Any thoughts out there on this ? Quote
JohnX Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 In a former life I was a jeweler so the topic of geocoins holds some interest for me. I know how to make high quality coins but the materials are expensive, and the equipment required is beyond the reach of most people. I have some thoughts on low tech methods for casting trinkets and would not mind collaborating with someone if they would care to perform a few experiments in creating their own coins. I am not really interested in making coins myself because I am not into the signature item thing. Send an email if you are interested in collaborating on a few experiments. Quote
