+Ellteejak Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 I am starting to think of my PDA as the Hitch hikers guide to the earth. I can put maps of any place on the pda, and lists of geocaches, and phonebooks, etc. Now I just need a sticker for the back. Quote
+Team GPSaxophone Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 Don't forget your towel I use a Palm M130, but it's fading fast. The touchscreen won't align in setup mode any more, so it's a challenge to write notes with it. The grafitti portion is mostly worn out. I do use a screen protector, but it works roughly the same without it. I'd like to upgrade eventually. Is there a particular model you recommend? Quote
+Ellteejak Posted April 30, 2005 Author Posted April 30, 2005 (edited) I am using the tungsten E which is the best selling model, because it is cheap (maybe $125 used) and available. The new model the tungsten E2 just came out for $225 I think. It has blue tooth. For cheap, just replace your screen via a palm repairman. Edited April 30, 2005 by Ellteejak Quote
+Ellteejak Posted April 30, 2005 Author Posted April 30, 2005 here is a sticker http://www.cafepress.com/panic_in_blue.19147587 Quote
+Team GPSaxophone Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 I'd replace the screen, but that's not the only thing wrong with it. Besides, the newer models have more memory. AFAIK, the Hitchhiker's Guide would take up more than the 8MB I have available, and I need to keep most of that space open for my pocket queries. That sticker is ok, but I prefer the original red button Quote
+embra Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 (edited) With expandable memory, my PDA really has become my bionic memory/buddy. Besides all my appointments, to-do's, addresses, memo's, and caching data, I have a dictionary, birding reference (complete with sample calls), audible books, mileage log, stopwatch/timer, and portable photo album. I have drawn the line at email. I love the sticker and am tempted to get it...seems a little large for my copy of the Guide, though. Edited April 30, 2005 by embra Quote

It is expandable, has a Lithium battery that holds a charge for a long time, and it can be bought on eBay for less than $60.00. I would recommend that model Quote

+Pasha Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 My office is buying me a Treo 650. Mmmmmmm. It's going to make my trusty Palm Vx look like an Altair. Quote
