+Haggis Hunter Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 If I remember correctly, a while ago Jeremy said that the UK was going to get links to Ordnance Survey (OS) maps. These being the main maps used in the United Kingdom. The system already gives us the conversion from WGS84 to British Grid, but doesn't give us a link to the maps they relate to. Lordelph, has came up with a programme called Greasemonkey, it can be viewed on this thread. Is it possible to get something like this added to the British caches. I would event be willing for all the other map links to be deleted (just my personal preference). As due to the fact OS are the main mapping system for the UK. Having some form of link is by far the best way forward. Cheers HH
+lordelph Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 (edited) Just to clarify, I didn't write Greasemonkey, which is a Firefox extension that allows any website to be extended through 3rd party "user scripts". I wrote a Greasemonkey user script that links gc.com cache pages to OS and Google maps. But I'd love to see OS map links as a permanent feature so the majority of non-Firefox users can enjoy them too! Edited April 28, 2005 by lordelph
+Jeremy Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 If I remember correctly, a while ago Jeremy said that the UK was going to get links to Ordnance Survey (OS) maps. The link isn't at the top, but under mapping we have Streetmap.Co.Uk maps. I thought that was what was asked for by UK cachers.

Would it still be possible to take a look at the above suggestion, as it is in 1:25000, where as streetmap is in 1:50000. The above suggestion being a more precise map. Cheers HH
