Should I take cards?

I found a cache tonight with a "calling card". I left one of my own. Are we supposed to take others' calling cards, or are they supposed to collect for the owner of the cache to have? I would think that we're supposed to leave them for the cache owner, except that I keep seeing references to trading and collecting calling cards. Any advice on this would be much appreciated, I don't want to take something I shouldn't.

(I didn't take the card from the cache I found today, by the way...)

i'm not sure... i've seen some and haven't taken them either...

i would guess, if they've only left one, leave it for the cache owner...

now, some cache owners make cards for finders to take... usually " you found it" type deals OR cards that "advertise their cache" that they want you to drop off in other caches...

...so...er...complicated

There is no rule. We leave cards at almost every cache we go to and it's neat to see them build up in the front of a log book as the caches age. But we have also found them in caches we haven't been to as though people used them as trade items. That's kinda neat too, but I just hope they didn't take something nice and just leave our card. I mean, we haven't reached Jeremy status or anything. icon_biggrin.gif

I like the idea of the wooden nickels too. Am thinking of getting some made up. Was thinking mainly for my website(perhaps having campgrounds, in my directory, offer a discount to those that bring one to them), but it would be neat to leave them around in caches. I think it would be neat to collect them.

This brings me to the thing of the Geocoins. Those are awesome. I wouldn't want to find one and put it in another cache. I would want to keep it and collect them. Does anyone know where you can get your own made?
