DustysMomma
Hi. I'm new here and have never done geocaching before. I had never even heard of it until someone posted about it on another web board I'm on. I'm in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and was quite thrilled to see several in my area. I have to get a GSP before I can go on my first cache hunt. ~April~ Scottsbluff, NE http://webpages.charter.net/mccreafamily Dogs ~ Dusty (greyhound) & Toby (lab/shepherd mix) Quote Link to comment
+Mopar
Welcome to the addiction...errr...sport! I used to have an Old English Sheepdog named "Dusty". Was short for "Lord Dusty, King of Fluff N Stuff". Tae-Kwon-Leap is not a path to a door, but a road leading forever towards the horizon. Quote Link to comment
DustysMomma
Thank you very much for the welcome. I am looking forward to learning much more about this. ~April~ Scottsbluff, NE http://webpages.charter.net/mccreafamily Dogs ~ Dusty (greyhound) & Toby (lab/shepherd mix) Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
If you are good at reading maps and good with the clues and hint's people leave in their logs you can find the geocaches without a GPS. Naturally the GPS helps a lot. My first find was without a GPS and it took some doing, but we worked things out. Wherever you go there you are. Quote Link to comment

+BASSETSLAVE
I caught the bug from an article that was printed in our local newspaper. I settled on a GPS and then I found my first cache. I now have the bug. I have been searching for caches for about a week now and love it. I am now doing research on where to place my first cache. Good Hunting and don't forget to ask if you have any questions. There is a wealth of knowledge out there for the newbies. Bassetslave BASSETSLAVE ----------- If you have the nose of a basset there is no cache that you can not find and you are never lost. Quote Link to comment

I love reading maps and finding different ways to get to different places and stuff like that. I'll have to let hubby know. So a GPS isn't an actual "requirement" to participate? ~April~ Scottsbluff, NE http://webpages.charter.net/mccreafamily Dogs ~ Dusty (greyhound) & Toby (lab/shepherd mix) Quote Link to comment
