+Mr. Snazz Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Do the stages within a multi have to be at least 0.1mi apart from eachother? And, if so, does this apply to "virtual" stages, where there isn't a container but rather you're writing down numbers off a plaque or a sign?
+Pasha Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Nahhh. I've done multis where the waypoints were 50 feet apart. The .1m distance only applies to the published waypoint's distance (and the final cache's distance) from other caches, AFAIK.
+carleenp Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Within the multi it is OK because presumably the person knows that they are doing all one cache and so any confusion between stages won't cause confusion about what cache to log in the end. It is when the stages are too close to other caches that problems arise because then people could find the wrong cache, get confused and log the wrong one etc.
Keystone Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Here is a post in the FAQ topic that's pinned at the top of the "Getting Started" forum. There, I tried to summarize how the 528 foot rule operates. Pretty much as everyone's said above. Hope this helps.
+Mr. Snazz Posted April 5, 2005 Author Posted April 5, 2005 Thanks keystone! I'm partially blind and its difficult for me to find these things.
+Camo-crazed Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 As far as I can tell, any waypoint that the approver can see is too close to something else, cache, waypoint, whatever, won't be allowed.
