+one4zorro
I have been looking at Oziexplorer which I quite like, but I would like a similar program that has seemless mapping. I have lots of tiles of maps that at are same type and scale, is there a program that I could look at them seemlessly? Are there any similar programs that people would recommend? Thanks Martin Quote Link to comment
[MTB]_Intrepid
Well, there is Memory Map that works quite well (I use it exclusively for looking at large areas of several topo's at once) but it is pricey and not as friendly as Ozi. Of course, you could always use the "stitching" utility for Ozi called Map Merge. It's a bit of work, but it serves the purpose and it's free. Hope this helps you out. Quote Link to comment
+DocDiTTo
Check out USAPhotoMaps from www.jdmcox.com. It allows seemless mapping on topo maps and aerial photos (provided for free by microsoft terraserver). USAPhotomaps is donation ware, but it is free to use. Won't do street maps though, like Ozi exlorer does, cause they're not available from the terraserver. Quote Link to comment
Prof. Y. Lupardi
If all your maps are the same scale and format then you can glue them together with Image Arithmetic from http://www.t3i.nl/ Then when you have really big map you have to convert to ecw or tiled TIFF (or ozf2) to keep it useable. At least I cannot use 200 Mb png-files but 1.8 Gb ecw works ! Quote Link to comment
+PDOP's
Have a look at GPS Trackmaker I use it to mosiac several gif maps within one file. However, it is limited to a two point calibration for each map sheet. Quote Link to comment
+Redwoods Mtn Biker
MapCruiser may work. Check out www.navsim.com Rich Owings www.MakeYourOwnMaps.com "We were desert mystics, my friends and I, pouring over our maps as others do their holy books." - Edward Abbey Quote Link to comment
