+Harry Dolphin
Today, we went to Ward's Island, NYC, caching, and decided to look for the nearby benchmarks. One of them is KU1451. It is described as being "SET VERTICALLY IN THE SOUTHEAST FACE OF HEAVY CONCRETE ABUTMENT OF TRIBOROUGH BRIDGE (CABLES OF SUSPENSION BRIDGE ARE ANCHORED TO THEIS ABUTMENT)". It was easily found last month (and we think that we saw it from behind the fence, but could not get a good picture from 50' away). There is now an MTA police officer stationed here. He denied us access. Oh, well. We did find three other benchmarks nearby. Edited March 28, 2005 by Harry Dolphin Quote Link to comment
