Looking For Garmin To Nmea Converter Software

I read about this in an old post but can't seem to track it down. I've got a legend color coming in the mail and it will not output to NMEA. I need this program in order to use it the receiver with Delorme Street Atlas on my laptop.

What do you want to get into Street Atlas - do you want to do live tracking, or download stored tracks/routes/waypoints? I've been using GPSbabel to convert saved tracks from Mapsource into a format that Topo USA 4.0 (also a DeLorme product) can take in (csv to bring it in as a route, gpl to have it as a gps log). I think live tracking is what gpsgate is supposed to do, but it's an application I personally have no use for.

I think you're out of luck. You need to match the output to the program you intend to use before you purchase the GPS. A basic yellow eTrex works very well for this application.

I use my Garmin (eTrex Vista) with Street Atlas USA 8.0 without any problem. Street Atlas can use NEMA as well as the native Garmin format - I've used both!. You do lose the bells and whistles data screens using the native Garmin data format, but it is perfectly useable for navigating otherwise.
