mantis7
Hi all. I am a beginner and I am considering ordering a Garmin 76CS with cityselect as my map software. How big of a map will 115MB store? (Like miles x miles / kilometers x kilometers) Thank you! Quote Link to comment
webscouter.
It depends on several factors, Which states/cities. Those areas with more roads etc take up more room Weather or not you put in the points of interest. But for reference I can get the states of Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa in 126MB which includes Chicago. Quote Link to comment
JDan150
Most of CA will fit in 116 MB. Edited March 19, 2005 by JDan150 Quote Link to comment

W7WT
As indicated above depends on where you live and how detailed the area is. I have the 76C and have all of Washington, most of Oregon, bottom half of BC & AB, Top half of Idaho and some of Mt. I am talking about V 6 of Garmin City Select. Dick, W7WT Quote Link to comment

EWDaron10
I noticed from your post that you are in Northern California. I am in Southern Oregon and what I have is all of Western Oregon, from the WA/OR border south plus CA down to Sacramento from City Select v6 plus topos covering an area approx. 80 miles in all directions from my home. Total Size?? 96 maps, 62.1 MB per MapSource. You'll love the 76CS Ernie Quote Link to comment
mantis7
Holy Moley!! Thats fantastic!!! Thats pretty much exactly how I want to set mine up. Thanks for adding that info, Ernie! I see I will still have quite a bit of room left over as well. I'm gonna have to wait a bit before I can get the topo maps though....I kind of blew the budget with the GPSr and city select . PS I even dreamed about Geocaching last night hahahaha. I can't wait till I get a tracking number. Cheers! Mantis7 Northern California Quote Link to comment
