Misticme Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 I found what looks like one of those flattened pennies you get as souveniers at tourist spots in a cache. I thought it might be a geocoin, but it didn't hasve any number on it. Just a flattened coin that is embossed with geocahing.com and the symbol on it. Can anyone tell me what this is, what am I supposed to do with it (ie: keep it, hide it in another cache, etc), and where I can get some? Thanks. Misti Misticme@yahoo.com Quote
FISUR Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 You possibly have a Smashing Pennies geocaching coin. It is likely that the coin is intended for you to keep, but you may want to check past posts from the cache and look for the comments by the cacher who placed it. Hope this helps. FISUR Quote

+CYBret Posted March 20, 2005 Posted March 20, 2005 Yep, sounds like Smashing Pennies to me. Check out their website. I have a few of them left in my caching bag. I even have a smashed nickel or two, I think. Bret Quote
+Gralorn Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 Does anyone know if these are available in the UK, without having to purchase from the States ? Quote
+fly46 Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 I don't know about Geocaching versions, but you could always get a regular version by checking around touristy places. Here we can find them in zoos, malls, museums, etc. Quote
