Jaybean Posted April 29, 2003 Posted April 29, 2003 What I'm trying to figure out is the map Datum, Which one am i supposed to use? I live in Canada, so should I use NAD27 Canada, or should i be using WGS 84? Quote
+briansnat Posted April 29, 2003 Posted April 29, 2003 WGS84 (for geocaching). "It has been my experience that folks who have no vices have very few virtues" -Abraham Lincoln [This message was edited by BrianSnat on April 29, 2003 at 08:28 AM.] Quote
+Poindexter Posted April 29, 2003 Posted April 29, 2003 Use WGS84 unless your using a paper map for navigating with. In that case you should use the datum of the map. Quote
geoStrider Posted April 29, 2003 Posted April 29, 2003 Also, be sure that when you input the geocache coordinates, your GPSr is set to WGS84. "I've never been lost, but I was a might bewildered for three days once." - Daniel Boone Quote
+aka Monkey Posted April 29, 2003 Posted April 29, 2003 All that matters is that you're using the same datum as your reference, whether it be a map or (in this case) the Geocaching Web site. The Geocaching site uses WGS84, so set your unit to WGS84 too. Quote
