+Husker
I was looking for some camp sites and came across this "state park", Meridian - Baseline State Park. It seems like it would be a natural benchmark but it's not in the list. I drove out near it but didn't have enough time to really look for it. It's just north of Pleasant Lake Island cache a few miles. Edited March 11, 2005 by Jason and Christian Quote Link to comment
+Stunod
This unique, landlocked park designates the spot where all township, range and section measurements begins for the entire state of Michigan. It is not accessible to the public, but is being preserved for its historic value. That silly public...have got to keep them from ruining everything Quote Link to comment
+Team Tecmage
Okay, it's not accessible, but we give you DIRECTIONS to it anyway... Quote Link to comment
+berryzang
I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that there is some kind of marker there. Quote Link to comment
+zygote2k
You are allowed to go and look at the baseline and meridian markers in the park. I just returned from visiting them 4/20/05. If you would like to visit this park, speak with Gary Jones of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources @734-475-8307. The park has only 1 entrance and it is hard to find. The benchmarks are enormous and very unique. Quote Link to comment

ismphilli
Here is the southern marker (6-17-2010). Northern marker should be found 900 feet to the north, kinda swampy on the north end; did not go. difficult to get to, access through private property off Cooper Road. snapfish Quote Link to comment
