avroair Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Okay this thread is dedicated to talking about geocaching in Northern New Jersey since the forum is actually dedicated to the whole Northeast. Comments and questions about NNJ are welcome here. Quote
orange Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Why would you want to confine NNJ to one thread? If you have something specific to discuss then Post it in the Northeast but put something in the Topic that clues us NNJ people to it. Like: "What cacher would you like to meet on the trails in NNJ?" "Who is your favorite NNJ geocaching couple? (I vote for Hart + Brian)." I like reading short threads. If this thread went on and on about this and that, I would stop looking at it. My 2 cents. Quote
briansnat Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 I thought the entire northeast thread was devoted to discussing northern NJ (with a little Long Island and Harriman thrown in) . Quote
Tiffany's Slaves Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 I thought the entire northeast thread was devoted to discussing northern NJ (with a little Long Island and Harriman thrown in) . Hey... the truth is that in Geocaching Terms Nothern New Jersey = |<------------------- HUGE --------------------->| Rest of Northeast (esp LI) = |<- TINY ->| Quote
avroair Posted March 9, 2005 Author Posted March 9, 2005 (edited) If you have something specific to discuss I don't, it is a general discussion rather than something specific. I like reading short threads. If this thread went on and on about this and that, I would stop looking at it. No one is forcing you to read this thread. Edit: Quotes ain't working. +briansnat Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 TrailHound got a FTF on my Big Picture today, but Bearfort Ridge and Marionette are still out there waiting. Guess they're out of TrailHound's range. Quote
JMBella Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 I own a cache in NNJ, can I post here? Technically, it's not even mine anymore being as part 1 and part 2 have both been replaced by other cachers. Quote

JMBella Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Hi. I've decided to archive my NJ cache and just leave it there. Nothing wrong with that right? Quote
Harry Dolphin Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Hey! I actually have a FTF! Fluffy Pink Bunnies. I was going through Ramapo that day anyway... Ah, yes The Highlands. My favorite place to hike. I need to put out another cache so one or two people a year can go looking for it... I think I'll put it in TRL's back yard, just to get even... hee hee hee Quote
GeoKender Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 I think I'll put it in TRL's back yard, just to get even... hee hee hee careful... snagglepuss over there thinks sussex county IS his back yard! Quote

Salvelinus Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 <shameless plug>Come on along to the NNJGPS meeting! NNJGPS </shameless plug> I don't get it? Why have this thread, if there already is a site for Norther NJ cachers...complete with its own forums! Looks like it needs more people visiting it to make it viable. I bring this up because many of the PA caching groups desperatly want out of the Yahoo Groups and are somewhat struggling with someplace to go. For now, Central PA geocachers are communicating Here. We moved there just this week. Salvelinus Quote
avroair Posted April 7, 2005 Author Posted April 7, 2005 (edited) I think it is an old site being revived. By an individual. Bowling for Caches Event April 9th 5:30 p.m. Hope to see you there!!! Edited April 7, 2005 by avroair Quote

JMBella Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 Nice, I skied Utah several years ago and swore I would never ski the east coast again. I loved the wide open skiing there. I don't remember what mountain it was (maybe Snowbird or Alta) but I remember getting off the lift and hiking for another hour up for first tracks. Quote
Team Bam Bam Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 (edited) There were actually a few caches up here, but under 100+ inches of snow. No excuse. I've been to a few caches that were under 100 inches of thorns or 100 inches 'in a crevice' and I got them anyway. Buck up, Man! Edited April 9, 2005 by Team Bam Bam Quote
