-Hawk-
Glad to hear that all of you are OK. I had my big ham antenna cranked down because of the storm. We had a nearby strike and I could hear some crackle but everything seems to be OK. The big antenna is well grounded and probably gave us some protection. Just like the midwest thunderstorms, huh Tim. Have you noticed the "Bible Belt" and the area of intense thunderstorms are almost the same. Getting the HELL scared out of you frequently, can make a believer out of you. Dick I type now from the crappy laptop, until the other computers are fixed, and I say to you Dick, that I agree.... it was earily similiar to the midwest storms that I grew up to love, admire and respect. Mother Nature, sure does have a way of flexing her might, and in this case you just never think of it ever getting that close to you, and WHAM...she "Strikes" you back to reallity and out of complacency. My Snookie is alright, and no one was injured, so all is good. Although the neighbors house that was hit three times, had every outlet, switch, and their covers shattered and blown to oblivion. I even heard that their big plasma TV was taken out on a double surge protector. Melted the first, disabled the second, and just plain blew out the tv. The house was declared by the local Fire Department as an inhabitable structure for the time being.......glad that was not our house. Quote Link to comment

Shop99er
Congrats on making the Banner Gallery TTUMS here~ Oh Dick, Dick, Dick..... you should never take back what you originally posted.... You're right, I do remind you of a '52 Buick! Built for comfort, not for speed. Quote Link to comment
W7WT
Glad you are taking it so well. Our first car was a 52 Ford that had twin nacells sort of like the Buick, and that was the first thing I thought of when I saw the picture. Then after I posted it, I thought gee that's not a very nice thing to say. Dick Quote Link to comment

Harriet the Spy
I just saw this group on the small banner today. Teperky Lizzy Cachedance Two JJ Navy busgirl and the two cute girls are Jenna and Miss Felicity modeling TwoJJ's caching hats at Mayhem in Marysville. Quote Link to comment
grossi
I just noticed that a photo I took of Team Maccabee hiking to Ebey Bluffs made it onto the banner. Quote Link to comment
hydnsek
Well, as long as we're posting banner pics.... Team GeoBlast (in Hawaii) recently posted a note on the BLT...not the sandwich cache, saying they'd seen a wonderful photo in the banner and had to find out which cache it was (and they did). Hey, I took that photo (last August) in the North Cascades - never knew it made the banner: I think I've hit the banner trifecta now: appeared in one, taken one, and had one of my caches in one. CurmudgeonlyGal
Gosh, I dunno. It's been "Geodiver On The Cover" for so many years now we might not know which thread it is if you change it. michelle Edited April 11, 2008 by CurmudgeonlyGal Quote Link to comment

W7WT
If you do change the name you are also going to have to change "Happy Gillmore" to "Unhappy Gillmore". Great guy that put out some great caches, he is no longer active. Edited April 11, 2008 by W7WT Quote Link to comment

W7WT
I'll leave well enough alone and go use my mad title-editing skilz elsewhere, then. Why don't you just start a new one and let the old one slide off the bottom of the list. Dick Quote Link to comment
MissJenn
I couldn't do THAT. Quote Link to comment
W7WT
Do what you have to do, and that is what is best for the geocaching community. Don't let my one vote sway what you think is best. If it was that big of an issue, you would have had more input. I really doubt if Rick cares one way or the other. Dick Edited April 11, 2008 by W7WT Quote Link to comment
TotemLake
Well then let me add another vote to keep the title the same. We are an esoteric bunch and the title does reflect that in our culture. Edited April 11, 2008 by TotemLake Quote Link to comment
