+Natureboy44 Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 I've been working on an idea for what I think would be a challenging set of caches that would involve breaking a code for each and a relatively difficult cache to find for each also. The codes would get increasingly challenging (but solvable) and would have to be found in a specific order. Is this something you all might enjoy? I know you'd like the hides, but I guess I'm wondering about the codes. Quote
+trail hound Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Check out , GCM8MG I found it...It was tough!!!!!! Very frustrating. Quote
+JMBella Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 I'm sure they'll be great caches and very satisfying once found but, I'm not a huge fan of puzzle caches. The less time I have to sit and think and more time I spend on the trails the better. But that's just me. Quote
+trowel32 Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Would you want to hunt it? I love the puzzle caches (as long as I can solve them ) Quote
shanni-bugbait-wren Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Sounds fun, just don't make them math puzzles. I failed math in high school. Quote
+nikcap Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 I give you a wild guess on what my opinion is on this subject. Quote
+HartClimbs Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Sounds terrific. I'll look over Nick's shoulder and copy his work..... Quote
+avroair Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 I give you a wild guess on what my opinion is on this subject. Payback is lethal! Of course I am up for puzzle caches. Especially ones Nik can't find by himself. Quote
+wwobble Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 If you place a few with a challenge that you think you would enjoy, I'm sure others would enjoy them too. Just don't make them so challenging only you could find them. Quote
+Natureboy44 Posted March 8, 2005 Author Posted March 8, 2005 Is it ready yet!? Patience, patience!!! It's going to take at least a couple of weeks to get this finished. Besides, I've not totally decided on the FTF yet. Quote
+avroair Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Is it a math puzzle or one of those sillly logic puzzles --- I have already done one of those! Quote
+Team Bam Bam Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 After reaching my conclusion on who the FTF cacher is likely to be I have a suggestion for the FTF prize - how about a commemorative Charles & Camilla wedding plate? Quote
+Planet Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 The great thing about geocaching is there is something for everyone. So go for it! But you'll have to send me the answers I don't do math, and I'm lousy at puzzles, unless it's a jigsaw puzzle. Meanwhile, I'll stick to the more traditional style caches. Quote
+avroair Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 After reaching my conclusion on who the FTF cacher is likely to be I have a suggestion for the FTF prize - how about a commemorative Charles & Camilla wedding plate? I wasn't aware it was on Snat and Hart's registery? Snart - hmmm.... Quote
+Jerseytrex Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Hey I'm up for it I'll just have my boyfriend Mike do all of the work while I sit and look busy playing with my digital camera. Oh man my secrets out I hope he doesn't read this. Quote
+Greg2dot0 Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Is it ready yet!? Patience, patience!!! It's going to take at least a couple of weeks to get this finished. Besides, I've not totally decided on the FTF yet. I know, I'm sure you're waiting for the Explorist 500's to become available for FTF! Quote
+Spoon! Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 Sounds like it would be a good excuse to spend a day caching in NJ! They can't all be parking lot micros! Quote
+Tiffany's Slaves Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 Sounds like it would be a good excuse to spend a day caching in NJ! They can't all be parking lot micros! I have looked at quite a few caches here in New Jersey and other then the very few highway rest area caches, i have not seen any "parking Lot Micros". I think that I remember hearing that there are hundreds of them in other areas though... just not many here in NJ. Quote
+nikcap Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 I have looked at quite a few caches here in New Jersey and other then the very few highway rest area caches, i have not seen any "parking Lot Micros". You just have to know where to look for 'em. BTW, NB44, is your cache ready yet? Quote
+Natureboy44 Posted March 12, 2005 Author Posted March 12, 2005 BTW, NB44, is your cache ready yet? I'm beginning to feel like on a long car ride with my kids. Quote
+avroair Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 I have placed two puzzle caches in the same amount of time it has taken you to place none! NOW, is it ready yet? Quote
+Natureboy44 Posted April 18, 2005 Author Posted April 18, 2005 Ok all, I'll probably have this up in about a week or two. It will be a series of 3 caches ("Cypher Cache Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie") that must be found in order. Each will require decyphering a coded message, however some hints will be provided and other less obvious one will be available for those who can find them. I also hope you will enjoy the hiding methods of the caches. FYI, to motivate you the FTF prize for the 3rd cache will be a "treasure chest" with $50 in it, as well as some other good swag (laser level, watch, CDs, etc) to keep you all motivated to stay with it. More info to follow as the release date get near. Quote
+trowel32 Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 RATS - I missed my chance to throw in another "is it ready yet" Quote
shanni-bugbait-wren Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Do ya think it can be done in a day? Jeez, we've been caching over year and haven't even got to 100 yet!!! This will take me 4-EVER!!! Quote
+nikcap Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Don't sweat it Shannicat. Trowel already has the puzzle soved, and Quoddy stole one of Naturboy's socks and is training the real Quoddy to hunt the cache down by scent. Naturally, while Trowel and Quoddy are hiking to the cache, they'll meet KBer on the way back from his FTF. I, on the other hand, will spend three days writting a C program to translat all type of encryptions. But in the end, I'll do the whole thing by hand, and then wait until August to go and get it. BTW, Alan ... IS IT READY YET?! Quote

mortonfox Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 I'd ask if it's ready yet, but I'll probably end up not doing it. So, never mind. Quote
+LocaRoja Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 I'm gonna give it a whirl when this one goes live, but I'm sure I'll be about 50th to find by the time I get through the puzzle and actually find the caches. I have a hard enough time getting NB44's caches when he just gives me the coords! Quote
