CacheKestrel
Hello - I have recently been to some interesting theme and historical area caches that added to the experience of the find. It is always fun to learn something new about an area and being from NJ the whole "Weird NJ" thing also adds fun to the adventure. History, ghost stories, and local folklore usually spice things up. With the mystery cache you can be given clues that help you appreciate historical fact or local fiction in a unique way. I know that there are many creative cache hiders out there. Please share some of your favorite mystery caches? Thanks Edited February 24, 2005 by CacheKestrel Quote Link to comment
Two Geeks and a GPS
Act One, take five Shameless plug for our mystery cache. We've gotten good feedback. It was quite a bit of work to get it going, but worth it. Quote Link to comment
fly46
To me, a good mystery cache is any one I can solve on my own. lol. I like the bonus to my little china series, too, but then I'm biassed. Quote Link to comment

Harry Dolphin
Okay, CacheKestral, not necessarily of historical interest, but my favorite Mystery Caches in North Jersey are: Any of Markwell's Photographer's caches that come nearby. The Cauldrons of Courage. Security NJ. Avroiar's MI6 series. Aerial Surveillance. Peanuts and Cracker Jacks.. Not to mention The Green Man Lives!, which I haven't finished yet. Quote Link to comment
Shop99er
Wanted: The Outlaw (Smackdaddy) There is no log to sign. You have to tell the owner what you find. Fair warning, it's a bit if a bast#*$ to get to. There's lots of "keep out" signs along the way. Just make sure you stay on the correct side of them, and you'll be fine. I am also very fond of "Murder for a Jar of Red Rum". This one taught me how to think outside the box. Also, I have a great deal of respect for the owner. Looks like the MI6 could be allot of fun. Quote Link to comment

Also, I have a great deal of respect for the owner. I enjoyed that one too (I assisted with the FTF). Now I need to get out to Washington again and actually find it! Quote Link to comment
Don&Betty
Here's the favorite of my own caches (which are all tough puzzlers). http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...c1-6a4c60c45ba9 It's a mathematical proof that any female is the equal of any male. To get the coordinates, you have to show where the proof is wrong. Hidden 7/2/2003, the puzzle has never been solved. The cache was found twice, but the first person had recognized the photo, the second stumbled onto it while looking for another. The puzzle (which is original) is not that tough--and it's very interesting just to read. Check it out. Edited March 7, 2005 by Don&Betty Quote Link to comment

Snoogans
my favorite:CSI: San Antonio 'neko LOL! I'm one of the suspects and I have NO vague earthly idea where the picture came from. I never bothered to solve the puzzle since I haven't cached S.A. yet. Who knows? I proably did the crime. I could always plead insanity. Quote Link to comment
hamgran
GCHM4W, The Talented Mr. Bean, is my favourite mystery cache. A group of us had a lot of fun solving it at work one night. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...41-9c11a3577bd2 Edited March 8, 2005 by hamgran Quote Link to comment

Scoobie10
I would certainly have to say The Journal cache is one of the best. It's well planned, and requires many different skills to find the location. I did it in one day with 3 other guys and I think we logged just over 13 miles. It's just outside of Peoria Illinois and well worth a trip from almost anywhere to attempt it. Scoob Quote Link to comment
Q2XL
71 people "watching" The Journal WOW! Wished I lived closer Quote Link to comment
TAT
Crop Circles is very entertaining. I hope I can get to CA again to give it try. Quote Link to comment

Blaidd-Drwg
Colorblindis my most recent favorite. It took me several weeks of stareing at the puzzle to figure it out. Now for the shameless plugs for my own caches. Dancing Men which is a Sherlock Holmes theme, and Birtschi II which is a cryptology theme. Quote Link to comment
fly46
The next one I'm going to do is The Legend Of Monkeybrad... Next time I go to my aunt's house, I'm going to stop on the way to log this one. Which reminds me... Hey, Brad, what's the name of the woman I'm supposed to ask for? Jennifer?? Quote Link to comment
koneko
Shameless plug: Setec Astronomy GCHV58 i love that movie!!! Quote Link to comment
The GeoGadgets Team
The Contact Cache has to be my favorite. But then, I'm just tickled that I solved it. And that my family and I made a special trip to find it. Fractal is the MAN! I've done other puzzle caches since (discovered that I have a jones for them), but this is my first and I think it is the best out there. Quote Link to comment
