Stuey Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 Well done Paul! Sorry I never got a chance to talk to you again at the Winchester event. I saw you in the distance in the pub, but by the time I had got your way, I think you had gone? See you at another event one day soon no doubt! Quote

Sparticus Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 Quick question Paul. Last time we spoke you told me you were going to slow down. I guess a rolling stone gathers no moss, metaphorically speaking. Well done. How about inviting us mere mortals to your 1000, like slytherin did last year. Andrew Quote
Brenin Tegeingl Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Well done. How about inviting us mere mortals to your 1000, like slytherin did last year. But your going to have to arrange it for day light Dave Quote
Prince of Darkness Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Well done! 900th in style in the dark! Quote
Papakas Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Many thanks everyone! As for a 1000th cache event that could prove difficult to predict as I could be anywhere, no I don't preplan these milestones, they just happen! As for an event in daylight, I don't think my manager, Prince of Darkness, will approve of that! Special thanks to Team Maddie UK for their excellent Zodiac Series, 50% of which I knocked out in the dark! Completed the lot, along with about a dozen other caches and a further dozen trigs in 24 hours! Didn't know I'd reached 900 until after Josie's Cache, pulled into Gledrid services for a break and counted up! Just as well as I was beaten back by the weather after that! Parked up for the night in the hills on the Welsh border only to experience worse conditions the next morning, the ground white with hailstones! Had no arctic survival gear with me so sensibly called it off and headed home! Taking a break next weekend, got to catch up with some admin! Kicking off again at SGDO over weekend 26/27! 1000 by Easter? But that's only 4 weeks away! Shouldn't be a problem!! Quote
Firth of Forth Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 You could celebrate both your birthday and your 1000th at the Scottish Geocachers Weekened on Bute - I'll certainly buy you a drink!! Quote
Papakas Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 I'd thought about that Sally as it would be quite an occasion and for me to share with my good friends attending! However, four caching weekends until the Easter holiday @ my current rate of 25 caches a week I think the big one's going to happen sooner! And, then there's Easter itself, four days of caching! Quote
Team Ullium Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 If you manage the 1000th on Bute FoF won't be the only one buying you a drink Well done Pyoung1s...and especially in that weather Team Ullium. Quote
The Hokesters Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Blimey O'Reilly! Well done matey - on to the next few! Quote

Papakas Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Sorry chaps, it gets worse! Just taken on a task that puts me in Cairnryan and Ayr tomorrow night. I'll be checking out the local cache listings this evening to see if there are any bonuses I can bag whilst up there! Quote
Firth of Forth Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 You'll enjoy 'In the Ayr' then, which I just did yesterday, plus a few other local caches. I can recommend 'Peden's Cove', and 'Say One For Me When You're Down'. Quote
Messe Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Very Well done...i can only dream...oneday Quote
The Ollies Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Congratulations Paul on your milestone,... but just one question.. What will you do when you've run out of caches? Quote
Subarite Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Many Congratulations! 1000 in your sights... And then... Well.... 2000 can't be THAT far away . Andy. Quote
Happy Humphrey Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Well done, Paul - an example to all of us that give up when it's getting dark! Now get over to the IOM and see what you make of the caches here - the latest one is designed with darkness in mind...we get plenty of it at this time of year. My next-but-one is only possible in the dark (I hope!). HH Quote
68 GUNS Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Well done Paul, only another 4580, 4581, 4582... to go. Congratulations, and good hunting. Quote
Papakas Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Many thanks Sally, I'll have a look at those in the morning and see if I'll have time to fit into what will be a rather flying visit! Hi The Ollies, I've a simple plan if I run out of caches... get Prince of Darkness to start placing some! HH, Isle of Wight in March, Isle of Bute in April, Isle of Man.... May..be a possibility! Quote
Team Marigold Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 Many congrats from Summer Lightning and the rest of Team Marigold I wish you guys would slow down!. We're getting further and further behind instead of catching up. Quote
