+Ladyhawke91
....that require some hiking so my geocache dog, Shea, can stretch his legs a bit. Does anyone know if any good, longer hike caches located in Virginia or Maryland? Thanks in advance for any help. Quote Link to comment
+Polgara
I can't point out anything toward your area, i've never cached in the mtns of VA, but, I can tell you that this cache is NOT for dogs. It looks like a great cache for dogs, but its not. In fact, its the first cache i ever did that a dog would be a terrible burden. Quote Link to comment
+bigcall
There are several along the Bull Run/Occoquan Trail in NoVA that will allow you to hike as little or as much as you like. The area is dog friendly, but they do prefer leashes. Here is a quick look at some of them. The entire trail is actually 17 miles long and is a nice trek. The majority of the caches appear to be concentrated at the southern end since a caching event was held there last year but there are a few more along the way north up to Rt 28 in Centerville. Here is the PATC write up and here is a trail map. Hope this helps. Edited February 12, 2005 by bigcall Quote Link to comment
