a coworker is giving his to me,is this model ok to use for this?he said he was not sure how old it is and he has no instruction book.he thought it was not as accurate as the new ones???is that because of military scrambling?and now that the signal is not scrambled is this unit compatible? thanks in advance? the new guy!!

Based on the specs it will do as well as any of the current models. You may need some assistance entering waypoints into it though.

 

When SA was shut off it affected all GPS receivers in a positive way.

visit www.magellangps.com and follow links to their online manuals. I didn't see one for the 2000XL, but the others may be useful in that many of the functions are similar and you could probably determine how yours works based on how the others funtcion.

 

You might also try having them mail you a manual for your unit.
