+Team DEMP
I figured I'd post the link here first and get some feedback before I looked to post it to a larger audience. First, the site is http://www.cachingcentral.com and it's a compilation of news from various sources related to geocaching. The site itself is obviously accessible via any web browser, but the interesting twist is that there's also a RSS feed which means anyone with a RSS reader or site like http://my.yahoo.com which displays RSS feeds, can point to the feed and get the updates to their reader without having to visit the site. Sort of "push" news vs "pull" news. You don't need to register to the site to view or post, but you can if you want. Saves you from entering in your info if you decide to comment. If you're not familiar with RSS and want more info, check out http://www.whatisrss.com/ and for My Yahoo see http://my.yahoo.com/s/rss-faq.html . In addition, some browsers such as Firefox have built in RSS support. I'll be adding more content but figured I had enough to throw it out and get some feedback from the target audience of probably the toughest geocaching critics I know So please let me know what you think. David P.S. I know that the Google Ads arent always relevant. It needs to re-spider the site to get more targeted content. Quote Link to comment

avroair
Cool. You have a blog? Nerd! Your Nov 16th article was hoax picked up by the Economist! Are you planning to add more localized features from local cachers or is it maintained as a PR news dump? Edited February 8, 2005 by avroair Quote Link to comment
+Team DEMP
I have multiple blogs. A personal one is at http://www.levinecentral.com/davidsblog Not much in the way of family photos though. I think I have more screenshots of track logs then anything else The site can be anything relevant to geocachers. I don't think it should be too localized since it might turn off people in CA if they keep getting updates of events local to NY/NJ but if it's related to the general geocaching population, no reason why it can't be posted. I'll try getting links to HW and software reviews too. I think the real benefit is the RSS feed, at least to me, in that I have lots of them and it helps me from going to sites to check things out I'm not interested in, or nothing has changed. I don't have enough time in the day to check every place that I might be interested in, including here some times. I could setup another blog in a few mins if there was interest in a local one (I assume you mean the NY/NJ/CT area), but I think the forums here cover that well. If not, I can quickly do something. Thanks for the feedback so far and keep it coming. David Quote Link to comment
+fosterbass
I created a LiveJournal account for this RSS feed. If any LiveJournal users want to add it, go to http://www.livejournal.com/friends/add.bml...caching_central Quote Link to comment
+IMLost
Very nice I added the RSS feed to the NEGeocaching.com headlines section. Quote Link to comment
