+popop
I am trying to set the preferences for routing in my Mapsource (Version 6.5) software. The Help file says to go to the Routing tab under EDIT/PREFERENCES. Unfortunately, I have no such tab showing! Any ideas why? Quote Link to comment
Team Of Wheat
Do you have a routable map installed such as City Select? I'm pretty sure that mine didn't have that tab until I installed my City Select North America. Team of Wheat Quote Link to comment
+popop
All I have is TOPO U.S. loaded - don't own City Select. Quote Link to comment
Neo_Geo
I think Team of Wheat is on the right track - it's exactly what I was thinking. I've always had routable map titles, and I've always had the tab. Just out of curiosity, why are you going to the help feature and why is it directing you to the Routing preferences? +popop
I've never created a route before and was trying to create one from Coos Bay, OR to Seattle, WA just to see how to do it but all it created was "as the crow flies" vectors. I went to the HELP file for info on creating routes and saw that I needed to set routing preferences to get it to follow highways, etc. I didn't realize that TOPO was not a routable product. So I'll just drop trying to use routes until I decide to purchase routable maps. Thanks for the help though. Quote Link to comment
Neo_Geo
Well, YOU can still create routes. The key word there being YOU. It's like a "connect-a-dot" puzzle. You have to manually enter the dots, and then tell MapSource in which order you want them connected. Quote Link to comment
