+cache_test_dummies Posted February 6, 2005 Share Posted February 6, 2005 While doing this cache yesterday I saw these bird tracks in the snow. I think they are probably from a wild turkey, but I'm no expert. Can someone who knows about such things confirm this, or is there another bird in this region which makes these tracks? The cache is in northeast Massachusetts. I put my GPS in the picture for size perspective. Link to comment

+MountainMudbug Posted February 6, 2005 Share Posted February 6, 2005 Yeah, that's a turkey We saw some in the snow a couple weeks ago while following mammal tracks, and it was funny how we both looked at each other with shock and confusion when we ran across a whole wad of these turkey tracks. It took a minute to register what they were since they do look so big and strange, and I'd never seen turkey tracks in the snow before! On the way back to the car we saw the turkeys who left them.
