fly46
Okay, I've possibly discovered my signature item. I was looking at a pen I made a couple days ago and it came to me that very few people probably make them, and what a cool signature item it would be. The down side is that it's a bit longer than a regular pen, and I am sure that there are a couple caches that I won't be able to fit it in. So should I use the pen as my signature item and just not put it in the caches that it can't fit in. Or should i come up with some alternate signature item for the caches it doesn't fit in? Or should I come up with some alternate item altogether and scrap the pen idea? The pens are decorated to look like flowers. Quote Link to comment
Newenglandah
there are a few people with sigitue pens, but go with it for now and if you come up with something different change it...I personally can't come up with a sigiture item, just never think of a good item to rep. me... check out this page for some other sig items brdads site NOSEEUMS--High Protein Low Calorie unpacked trail snacks!!!! +fly46
Well, should I just settle for any item that I've made myself? I craft all the time, and so I figured that I could do the pens because they're really cheap (they cost about a quarter) and easy (five minutes work, max) and usefull, but I can expand it from just the pens to anything I've handmade... I don't know... Who'd've thought that signature items would be so hard to come up with??? Quote Link to comment
GEO*Trailblazer 1
Hey crafty what about making a mini version of the pen that will fit in some of those smaller caches????. Jeremy
That made me think we should have the profile page set up so you can upload and show your signature item. Cool list of items on brdad's site. Pens are a good idea. Maybe you can have an alternative in smaller caches. Even a golf pencil would be good since it would fit into just about anything. I like the 1" buttons personally, but I ran out a while back. Jeremy Irish Groundspeak - The Language of Location Quote Link to comment
fly46
Okay... So pens for the bigger caches... Now what am I going to use for the ones the pens don't fit into??? I think I may have to take up soapmaking again! Quote Link to comment

suemac
I like the idea of being able to put your sig item on your profile page. Better yet, I like the idea of a general sig item page where everyone can put a picture of their item - kindof a sig library - like the browse the TB page. Might even be able to recycle some of the code to make it happen :-) Quote Link to comment
GEO*Trailblazer 1
That would be a good idea to recirculate the numbers from the bone yard.Or whatever you want to call that place Happy Hunting Grounds. Only one disadvatage of mini pens are cold weather, the pens usually do not want to right. That's why I like my mini pencil it works no matter the weather if you forget your pen. +Tsegi Mike and Desert Viking
We have 2 sizes for our sig items. The larger one goes into larger caches that we think are good caches. The smaller one goes into micros and any large caches we either didn't quite appreciate or we ran out of larger sig items. So you could do the flowered pens for the larger caches, and do a smaller something that ties in with your larger sig item for the smaller caches.
