+Marvo434
This does lead on a bit from the IOM topic, but probably worthy of a thread of its own. Has anyone yet offered or done a Geocaching holiday? I am not talking about a couple of cachers going away for a weekend to a new area, but an organised package holiday, probably abroad, with escorted drop offs near to caching sites, or even a geohike or two? With family commitments, I have to declare that I wouldn't actually want one, but it does seem to me that there may be a call for it! What about setting something up for overseas cachers to come here and be accomodated and assisted in their caching activities? More a thought for discussion than an offer to arrange! davester
even a geohike or two? Hmmm. Might have to get that trademark registered just in case someone else starts making money with it. Quote Link to comment
+sTeamTraen
I have thought about this; you could probably get some of the wealthier, semi-retired American cachers over to "Yurp" for a caching vacation. By the time I've finished AlsaCache 2005 I will own over 20 caches round here, and it's a beautiful area to visit. However, I'm not sure how ethical it would be to organise a holiday based around one's own caches Quote Link to comment
SlytherinAlex
I've also thought of setting up geo-vacations in Austin. Live music capital of the world + good weather + great caches + cache hot-spots for the numbers men (& women) A winning formula? Quote Link to comment
+The Hokesters
I don't think there is ever likely to be a GeoHoliday in France! Quote Link to comment
+sTeamTraen
So then I got to thinking... what happens when someone slips and breaks their ankle going for a 5/4.5? Lotta lawyers about these days. "Your brochure clearly states that Geocaching is a family-accessible sport, so it's your fault my 93-year-old grandmother broke her hip when she climbed up that slope." +rutson
What a good idea! Just look here for accomodation ideas! CLICK ME FOR THE BEST GEOCACHING HOTELS!!! (Now where's the ironic emoticon.....) Quote Link to comment
+klaus23
I did think about doing this for Ireland, offering myself as a guide for visiting Geocachers at a price, but there's all sorts of insurance considerations to take into account, as well as doing it full-time/part-time etc. I just didn't think it was feasable, but if anyone would be interested, give me a shout Quote Link to comment

nobby.nobbs
great idea. just need lawyers to write up a suitable disclaimer. let the people arrange their own accomodation just be the guide paid a set amount per day. drive them to the start of each cache and let them loose.
