Tomtom Go Overlay

So, just got my shiny new TomTom Go this morning, just wondering if anyones created an overlay of all the geocaches in the uk yet!

 

If not, I can probably do it... Would this be of interest?

Ok... my bad - just found the download on geocacheuk.com

You have to be registered on the geocachinguk web site...

 

I got to it via

 

UK Stats-> Caches -> [search] -> File Download

 

Then selecting the tomtom overlay format for all 5089 (at time of writing) caches...

After I read this thread I went and found and downloaded and coppied to my Tomtom go. Dam good, what?

Now, how to add a sound/ warning when getting close to a cache?

I have thr Tomtom HP navigation pack which is supposed to have the same software as a TomTOm GO. Tap o nthe screen, go in to settings, click right until you see Warn when near POI - then choose the buggle (at least that is what I did - you might prefer the Cuckoo!)

I have this set up for speed cameras on my TomTom go

 

Go to change preferences

Maintain POI

Then 'Warn when near POI'

 

After that select the POI category

select the distance

pick a warning sound.. cow is interesting!!!!

then select if you want your warning only if you have a rute planed.

 

Hit OK and off yer go

 

Yer can set up any number of categories with different alarms for each

 

Better still just play like I do LOL LOL

You can also generate TomTom overlays with GSAK.

Further to me last post.. I was playing with POI Edit when I needed some calibration data in Lat/Long

 

I found this place Directory of Cities And Towns in the World which is quite neat. Handy for calibrating maps.

Nice resource, but according to that, Elland (where I live) is in 'Aberdeen City'

Silly old me. I wrote 'how' but I know how and did. Got the horn 2 for the caches. I had it running whilst in town (London) today and I was suprised how many there were that it seems that I have not done. I shall have my work cut out this evening checking these.

I was playing with POI Edit

This looks cool - but it is only for PC. What would be REALLY useful is a similar prog. that enabled me to edit the POIs right on the PDA so that when I'm doing a multi that requires driving being between stages my life is made simpler. Anyone know of such a tool?
