Small World

Your "Pico de Peklo" cache is less than 0.5 miles from my parents' home where I grew up. My father has looked for the cache a couple of times without luck. I can't wait until my next visit to Tucson to go look for it and other caches of yours with my family.

A "Bear Down" TB University of Arizona hat passed through Fairbanks a few months ago. I'm a U of A alum.

My wife and I went to her hometown to visit the inlaws and we decided to go have a drive down memory lane and visit the home she grew up in as a child. As we pulled up to the old house she got excited to see the old place. I got excited because outside the house there were vehicles with geocaching stickers all over the cachemobiles.

She wanted to go up to the door and say I used to live here can I look around. I wanted to go up to the door and say, "Anybody wanna go caching?"

Small world sometimes.

When I found my first cache I signed my full name in the logbook. A few weeks later I received an e-mail from the owner who wanted to know if I was related to X and Y (not their real names). Well X happens to be my father and Y is my brother.

It turns out that the owner was a retired police officer and served in the same police department as my brother and father and they were pretty good friends.
