hour Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Hi there, I'm a producer with 'the HOUR' — a new, nightly, TV news talk show with George Stroumboulopoulos that launchs nationally on Monday, Jan.17. We cover everything from Canadian politics to international headlines. We're essentially a straight-up, no b.s. current affairs show. We're looking at doing a piece on geocaching to air EARLY NEXT WEEK, so I'm looking for someone who'd be able to take one of our videojournalists out for a hunt and give us the deets on how it all works. I'm looking for people who aren't camera shy, can have some fun and are free to tape this week somewhere around Toronto (sorry!) Cheers, Rick rick_matthews@cbc.ca Quote
+Delta_flyer21 Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 I'm so DOWN with this idea. I'm totally not camera shy and would LOVE to do it. Let me know if you still need someone at delta_flyer21@hotmail.com Quote
jan27jay Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 Wish I could help, being a former videographer myself. I would volunteer myself, but I am organizing a large tsunami relief fundraiser in Newmarket this weekend. Quote
J.A.R.S. Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 Let us know when it airs! I want to set my VCR. Quote
+Cache-tech Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 (edited) From what I can tell, the interview was complete on the 21st with this account and cache thehour R.G.C. (GCM9EQ) I have a cache in the queue from the above account and need more information, if someone involved with this interview can contact me so we can get the cache listed at the requested time. The interview is indicated as airing @ 8PM EST on CBC News World. Edited January 26, 2005 by cache-tech Quote

CharlieZulu Posted January 26, 2005 Posted January 26, 2005 Segment was OK, I thought. Hope half of Mississauga isn't out there tonight at GCMK6F! cz Quote
+LugNuts Posted January 26, 2005 Posted January 26, 2005 I just caught the last part of the piece on "The Hour". For those that missed it, you can catch it again at 11pm ET or again at 2am ET. Good job! LugNuts Quote
+Amazon Annie Posted January 26, 2005 Posted January 26, 2005 I know of at least one cacher who is out there racing to the cache. Did anyone catch the mistake on the show? How many countries in the world have caches? Good luck guys! Quote

+Hard Oiler Posted January 26, 2005 Posted January 26, 2005 Congratulations to Buttons and Beaux and Res2100 on being the first to find Coconut Grove. I caught the show but too far away to even consider it - but it was a pretty good segment. I did however recognize the Jeff-trex cache container . Now I've got to watch the show again for the appearance of the FTF team Quote
+Olar Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 Congrats and looking forward to seeing Res and B&B on the show as FTF'ers. I thought the show was excellent and very well done. Thanks to the cachers (bobbyismyuncle and bunnhopper I think) for representing our sport so well and George and Kim for a great show. Looking forward to the follow-up segment. Cheers, Olar Quote
+Algonquin Bound Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 If anyone has videotapes of the two segments, I'd love to see them. Perhaps you can bring them along to the Rabbie Burns Night event on Saturday. Maybe we can even talk the pub into playing it for us. Quote
