+Brenin Tegeingl Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 I recieved a email today from Martin (Justhejob), to let me know that his caching companion and soul mate Toby the Dog, had to be put to sleep. Any one who knows or has meet Martin will know that Toby was a constant companion when out caching. And he will be soorly missed. The thoughts of my family and myself go out to Martin. Captain Kneebone Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 I'd like to echo Mancunian's thought's on this. Martin was the first geocacher to contact me when I started the hobby and I met him and Toby at Forestry Shepherd's event last May. Toby was clearly a splendid companion. Hopefully he will continue to accompany Martin in spirit. CK Quote
+Cave Troll and Eeyore Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 (edited) Martin , our hearts go out to you at this sad time . Please don't feel guilty for what you have had to do. It is one of the hardest decisions in life that anyone who cares for a canine companion may have to make . Just try and look back on all the good times that you shared. +snaik Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 Toby May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand wherever you are. Snaik Quote

+woof n lulu Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 Sorry about your lose... Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown... Quote

+ANDYBUG&LADYBIRD Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 We are truly sorry to hear about the sad passing of Toby, we have never had a canine companion, but we have had a couple of feline ones who have now departed. We know how you must be feeling and our sympathies are with you. Time as they say does heal all wounds but you will never forget the good times you and your companion have shared.
