Elias Posted January 8, 2005 Share Posted January 8, 2005 Throughout the last week, we've been working to install a new secondary read-only database to resolve the problems from late December. The size of the Geocaching.com database is enormous, and the replication process copying that data to the new server is extremely slow. As a result, we've been running with only our primary database server this last week. Pocket Queries have been slow to generate, and timeout errors are showing up on the web site during peak loads. At this point there is some indication that the process is nearing completion, and we hope to have the new database online shortly. We are actively working on and monitoring the process around the clock and are doing everything possible to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. Elias Link to comment
