JackiePenn Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 (edited) Looks like a bunch of UK cachers are archiving their caches in some sort of protest due to recent events.... What happens if everyone did that ? Edited January 6, 2005 by stonefisk
Lactodorum Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 UK geocaching would suffer. Please do not do it.
+mongoose39uk Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 UK geocaching would suffer. Please do not do it. Did consider closing my caches. But no I won't do that. I put a lot of time and expense into placing them and at the end of the day I do wish to continue playing the game. Perhaps we could have a statement from Jeremy explaining his position on the closing of threads. The closing of threads seems to be causing more heat.
+dunos Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 (edited) Since time began (1969ish with the invention of ARPANET) flame wars have been famous on the Internet. Once the heat has cooled down a bit then everyone will move onto the next arguement. I am assuming that Jeremy will comment on this subject since he is fairly active in the forums. Mmmm official statements. Just think about the lovely meeting they will be having at Groundspeak HQ about this. Until such point I imagine it would be prudent not to do anything to frustrate others, especially those who prefer not to get involved in politics and policy or forums. My comments are not directed at anyone and shouldn't be read as such. Dan Edited January 6, 2005 by dunos
+CuplaKiwis Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 Just noticed that there is no flame:smiley available in the clickables - most other BB's seem to have one. Although :antenna is reasonably close... My, aren't we civilised?!

JackiePenn Posted January 6, 2005 Author Posted January 6, 2005 Who's been archiving their caches? does it really matter who exactly?
JackiePenn Posted January 6, 2005 Author Posted January 6, 2005 No one as far as I know has archived their caches as a protest. My O.P was made as a political agitation, a hint at "Everyone join the band wagon and temporary archive your caches as a protest" without the O.P actually directly suggesting anyone should take such actions. But Lactodorum has made a plea for no such protest, he is wise, so end of.
