A year in review? Thanks all for hiding so that we could seek. We've learned so much! We've hidden a few to show our thanks. How many others are out there that just finished their first year? We've logged 101 finds, and still have one outstanding DNF---eer..we'll get it soon.... Many of you have found many more this "first" year than us, and congrats! Nevertheless, we are proud of our 101 finds this year. Post here to talk about your 1st year of geocaching!

We have officially been caching for a year as of the Thursday I believe.

 

We have 49 finds and hope to get number 50 tommorrow.

 

The numbers aren't anything important to me, I mean I've had hobbies where I put so much time, money, and effort into it in such a short ammount of time, that I was burned out within a month, but by taking geocaching slow, and not doing a whole lot, I'm conserving the fun factor.

We are hoping for a better year next year. The security situation on the Arabian Peninsula has really knocked the number of active geocachers hereabouts and those that do practise have set some specialised caches which don't really appeal to newbies. There is not much fun setting out on the chase to DNF because you can't get the family near the cache site, the route being a tad adventurous. Let's hope normality sets in soon because this place is a geocachers' heaven.

December 17th was my one year anniversary for geocaching and it's been a blast. I've met a lot of great people and have seen things that I never would have had the opportunity if not for this new hobby. Even after finding 503 caches before my year was up I'm still having as much fun now as when I started. Here's to another good year.
