for the more technically inclined (or just plain brave) here is a link to those hard to find garmin connectors. they are called pfrancs and they work on the honor system. just ask and they will send the connectors of your choice then you send either some good swag or cash. I purchased a couple for my gps 12 after cringing at the price garmin wanted for a little wire and some plastic. they are high quality connectors and there are instructions for making up the cables.

Pfranc has been around for a long time. Some pfrancs will give you a discount if you pay in advance. The connectors work fine for me, and I have more than enough to last for awhile.

I made mine for my Yellow eTrex. Only problem was some of the connections were a little loose. Funny thing was before I made mine, I bought the commercial one, and had the same problem.

I posted this because i didn't see any discussion about making cables. I am a newbie here maybe i missed it . glad to see some other "tech heads " out there.
