+BlueDeuce
I think it needs a few more advertisements. Quote Link to comment
+sept1c_tank
Moving to the Geocaching Topics forum, since this doesn't relate to getting started as a new geocacher. Thanks! I can't make anything of it. Let's send it to one of the regional forums! Quote Link to comment
Mushtang
What Do You Make Of This Cache? This? Well I can make a hat, or a broach, or a pterodactyl.... Quote Link to comment
+woodsters
Go and try to finf it.... Quote Link to comment
+Planet
Sounds like someone was trying to start their very own caching site, but without a clue. And I don't mean hint. Quote Link to comment
+Kealia
I'm in the Bay Area and can tell you what this is. Looks like it's connected to the TV show TechTv/Call For Help. Interesting....somebody from the show probably heard about caching and went off and did this a while ago. Quote Link to comment
+Mopar
Gee, did anyone tell those guys that they were breaking the law by hiding a cache there? Quote Link to comment
+Doggiewoggie
Private, commercial cache... my crystal falafel says it's gonna be a popular gimmick in the future. Quote Link to comment
+Mopar
Gee, did anyone tell those guys that they were breaking the law by hiding a cache there? Well, I'm half right! Did anyone else notice that even though from the decription it sounds like just one cache, the coords at the top of the article are totally different from the coords at the bottom of the article? Noobs! Anyone out there wanna see if this thing still exists? How do you log a DNF or SBA anyway??? Quote Link to comment
+Delta-S
I did notice the dual sets of coordinates. Not sure if that means that there are/were two locations or what... Maybe I'll head over and see what's there. Over three years ago, though... Quote Link to comment
+JoesBar
What Do You Make Of This Cache? This? Well I can make a hat, or a broach, or a pterodactyl.... Well, someone else is a fan of the picture, Airplane. (Those were my thoughts too!) Quote Link to comment
PC Medic
Looks like it's connected to the TV show TechTv/Call For Help. Interesting....somebody from the show probably heard about caching and went off and did this a while ago. I would hope so.... Ed (Buxley's) has appeared on the show on three seperate occasions over the past few years. Anyone in the area checked the coordinates to see what it is all about ??? Quote Link to comment
+Delta-S
Both are in San Francisco... just a bit outside of my normal caching radius. The first set of coordinates is near the beach in San Francisco - west of Lake Merced. The second is on the bayshore just south of 3Com Park. How can we transfer this thread over to the regional forum? Quote Link to comment
+Marky
This had to do with an article/show that TechTV did on geocaching a long time ago. I believe that Buxley was interviewed, but I am not sure. What is surprising to me is that there isn't a geocache too close to those coords. TechTV cache 1 color aerial photo TechTV cache 2 color aerial photo They both look like good placements. I bet the caches are still there. I wonder if there are instructions in the cache where to log your find online. --Marky Quote Link to comment
+Marky
What is surprising to me is that there isn't a geocache too close to those coords. Too close is a subjective term, I guess. There is in fact a cache within 0.2 miles of the first one, and 0.5 miles of the second. --Marky Quote Link to comment
