Elias Posted December 22, 2004 Share Posted December 22, 2004 Sometime Tuesday night around 9 PM Pacific Time (GMT -8), the database started reporting strange timeout errors when the web site attempted to write data to the database. Upon investigation, we found that the database file was full even though plenty of disk space was available. The database is supposed to automatically grow the database file as needed, but because of the large number of transactions occurring, it was never able to successfully complete the growth operation. We took the web site off line temporarily and performed a manual expansion of the database file. During this time, we also rebuilt the indexes and performed an integrity check of the database and no errors were found. At approximately 1:40 AM Wednesday morning, the database and web site was brought back online and appears to be functioning normally. Elias Link to comment
